The twelfth full-length album by legendary German Thrash Metal band.
The first album to include the original Sodom line-up since 1985. It marks return appearances by the band's original drummer Chris Dudek (a.k.a. Witchhunter) and guitarist Josef Peppi Dominic (a.k.a. Grave Violator), both of whom were featured on the original 1984 EP, “In The Sign Of Evil”.
The album features re-recorded versions of tracks from classic first EP, “In The Sign Of Evil”, as well as seven songs originally written for "In The Sign Of Evil", but not recorded due to the label's inability to pay for studio time. That's why "In The Sign Of Evil" was released as an EP rather than a full-length LP. The plan was to make the complete album, like it should have done back in 1984.
On "The Final Sign Of Evil", Sodom revisits early material without trying to update it either technologically or stylistically. Recorded 23 years after "In The Sign Of Evil", this 49-minute CD envisions what that EP would have sounded like as a full-length album back in 1984. The production on "The Final Sign Of Evil" has a muddy, demo-ish quality, which is by design; "The Final Sign Of Evil" faithfully re-creates the raw, garage-like, Punk-drenched spirit of "In The Sign Of Evil", but with 12 songs instead of five. Some of the tunes are excellent, while others are merely decent. But, regardless of the fact that "The Final Sign Of Evil" is mildly uneven, this is an important release for Metal historians.
Sodom was one of Europe's early Thrash Metal bands, and their willingness to bring ultra-dark subject matter to a Metal/Punk hybrid helped pave the way for Death Metal and Black Metal. Serious Thrash collectors will welcome this release. This is a great album and highly recommended to fans of the band's early work!

The fourteenth full-length album by legendary German Thrash Metal band.
On their fourteenth platter, Sodom continue to deliver their battle-tested (and themed) Thrash lunacy. A good description of Sodom’s sound would be the clean sound of Ride The Lightning-era Metallica with the angriness of pre-1991 Megadeth. That’s simply a recipe for greatness. So, with "Epitome Of Torture", one can clearly say that this is Sodom in their most destructive, meanest, fastest and furious forms to date. 
Kicking off with a grand Thrash number, "My Final Bullet", the album gets a perfect start with a dulcet clean melody, which turns, into the main riff that a Thrash Metal fan will simply adore. The song is loaded with guitar harmonies and melodic sections, and at the same time delivers total no nonsense Thrash Metal with its cult up-tempo verse riff. The album enters into its mosh-prone zone with the tracks "S.O.D.O.M", "Epitome of Torture" and "Stigmatized". These songs are no doubt among the best works of Sodom. 
The album takes a very peculiar bounce with the track "Cannibal". It has a sort of melodic and groovy touch to it and the riffs are very progressive in nature. It’s a very different approach taken by Sodom, and certainly not a bad one. "Shoot Today Kill Tomorrow" and "Katjuschka" bring us back to pure Teutonic Thrash mode with the aggression-laden progressions that they offer throughout, whereas "Into The Skies Of War" gives us the 80’s Hard Rock sound with the brilliant guitar riffs that it offers. "Into The Skies Of War", being a radio-friendly track, offers us kickass main riff and a pretty catchy chorus. Tom seems to be at his best with simply awesome vocal delivery. From laying the words on the music to a tremendous voice texture to covering a good range, his performance has been ace. 
"Invokating The Demons" is a melodic track which carries a Heavy/Power Metal-ish essense and "Tracing The Victim" consists of low-tempo paced progressions which possess strong modern sounding melodic punches. 
The album has many dimensions; most of the tracks stick to the trademark Sodom sound, ending up being a treat for the fans while many tracks have something very new to offer. The highlight of this album is clearly the maniacal guitar work along with Thrash-style vocals that fit the music perfectly. This is an extremely guitar-oriented album, if there ever was one. Sodom is a band that have never been too proud or overconfident. They have always followed a pragmatic approach, and that is what makes them good! This is yet another slab of righteous, riotous Thrash Metal with tons of hooks, and it demands the horns be raised high in homage. And yes, those Germans are still around and are still releasing devastating stuff!!

The debut full-length album by Swedish Atmospheric Doom/Death Metal band.
Soijl is a special project established by Swedish multi-instrumentalist Mattias Svensson (Saturnus, Istapp, Vanmakt, Nidrike) many years ago. However, only in late 2014 the band started recording the official 3-song demo. The songs received positive response among fans of Doom music and the band continued to work with enthusiasm over the other tracks.
"Endless Elysian Fields" contains seven songs lasting for a total of about an hour and stylistically tending to Atmospheric Doom Death Metal. According to the band members, these are "7 tracks full of total despair and fear", as the lyrics of the album tell mostly about people with suicidal tendencies and what is going on in their heads.
In terms of Doom Metal this is huge praise for this fairly new band, this album contains everything a Doom album should have: aggression, sweeping melodies, obscurity and passion. Every song showcases this to the absolute best of their ability.
One of the best examples of this work is the track “Swan Song”; this aggressive yet majestic track seems very pertinent for the animal in the title since we all know swans are graceful yet vicious. This song contains sombre guitar riffs, mesmerising choirs and a dominant growl that does more than show us who is in control. Another great example is the concluding track “The Shattering”; it again demonstrates the elegant yet destructive music; it’s beautiful and majestic yet hard hitting.
SOIJL are further proof that aggressive and elegant can be used to describe something incredibly spectacular. A spellbinding masterpiece from an ingenious band that every Metalhead should listen to!!

The fifth full-length studio album by Swedish Alternative Rock/Metalcore band.
It is the first album by the band to not feature former members Richard and Roger Sjunnesson. The album features guest appearance from Björn "Speed" Strid of Soilwork on the track "Before You Finally Break", marking as the first time the band has collaborated with another artist on a studio album. It's also the final album to feature long-time bassist Karin Axelsson.
"Day of the Dead" opens the album with a strong combination of MeloDeath and Metalcore, a la In Flames/Soilwork; an appealing display of heavy, yet melodic riffs and a blistering vocal delivery by Nathan, who now handles both clean and coarse vocals in the band. Richard's iconic screams may no longer be present, but Nathan does not disappoint, with gravitational low-end growls. Contrastingly, his cleans are powerful and anthemic, with songs further down the track list with much more imaginative chorus lyrics to display this. "Black Hole Halo" is one such track. It is a remarkably strong piece that is representative of the band's new-found aggression and focus on riff-orientated music; additionally, the vocals are absolutely stellar, with a catchy chorus that will surely resonate.
"Before you Finally Break" is the album's crowning glory. It is easily one of the heaviest tracks the band has ever written, with a remarkable melding of speed and aggression with compounding grooves. The centerpiece of this track, however, is the inclusion of guest vocalist Bjorn "Speed" Strid of Soilwork, who offers up both clean and coarse vocals. He and Nathan share an incredibly synergy on this track, delivering an intense and emotional chorus together.
"The Flame that Changed the World" is a surprisingly mature track, with a strong and meaningful synthesizer presence, that add a convincing 'Sci-Fi' atmosphere. Retain a strong In Flames influence in the riffs, the chorus is one of the best found on the album.
Sonic Syndicate have put together an excellent album that tries to meld aggression and melody without too much outside modern- trend influences.
This album sees the band pay homage to their roots while looking forward to the future. Sweden-Metal-lovers get their money’s worth with some more brilliant songs by Sonic Syndicate!

Debut full-length solo-album by Canadian Melodic Hard Rock guitarist.
Canadian guitarist Erol Sora has played with former members of Black Sabbath, Foghat, Survivor and Quiet Riot. But he best known as the longtime axeman for ex-Uriah Heep singer John Lawton’s solo band. However, the band was put on hiatus in 2004, and Sora subsequently found the time to put together a solo record of his own. Erol Sora was obviously born in the wrong year because his age looks about 30 while he sounds like that's how many years ago he should've been making music. There is for sure no one out there in this day and age making music of this sound without having been born around 1960.
Erol totally rocks throughout the entire album, kicking it strictly old school. His influences clearly range from Blue Oyster Cult to Led Zeppelin to Bad Company. 
“Demented Honour” is chock-full of hearty, well-written Melodic Rock anthems. Sora himself penned all the songs, played all the guitars, and (gasp!) sung all the vocals. Yes, “Demented Honour” marks Sora’s debut as a lead singer, and boy, does he ever have some decent pipes. He has a very smooth, AOR-ish voice that flows beautifully from melody to melody. As showcased in the John Lawton Band, Sora’s guitar playing isn’t too shabby, either. He plays everything from high-speed Arena Rock to slower blues rhythms on “Demented Honour”, filling out each song with a virtuoso solo.
The production on the album is spot-on. All instruments are audible (and well-played…Sora sought out the top studio musicians in Vancouver for this release) and Sora’s guitar tone is fluid and meaty. Since the majority of the songs on “Demented Honour” are just good ol’ Rock‘n’Roll and not particularly complex, the excellent production certainly helps to the songs sounding professional.
Every song on “Demented Honour” is a winner. It’s incredibly rare for a musician to nail all ten of his songs on a solo album, but Mr. Sora managed it.
His sound pretty much goes through all the classic Rock favorites.
If only Erol had been making music in the 70's or 80's then he would have been selling out arenas. Then they would have slumped in the early 90's and would be doing big reunion tours nowadays.
Recommended for fans of 80s Melodic Rock, Hard Rock or AOR! Really, it’s just a feel-good album!!
