Following the years of tribulations together, New York Thrash Metal legends have soldiered on despite the constant line-up, shuffling and uncertainty to come back recharged, refocused and more intent on providing the type of Thrashing material from their heyday.
Coming back together with Megaforce Records once again, the band’s eleventh full-length of original material and first with new guitarist Jonathan Donais (replacing Rob Caggiano) was originally released February 26, 2016 after a five-year gap between releases.
Being around for as long as they have, this here is pretty similar to what’s been apart of their sound for the majority of their career, which focuses on the tight, melodic twin guitar-based Thrashing, that’s featured here. The riffing is highly melodic and makes for quite a rousing series of high-energy riffing, that’s quite heavy while; also bringing along plenty of melodic harmonies in the vocals as well as the strong leads throughout here, create a strong sense of surging melody that compliments the varied heavier riffing. That comes from a selection of pieces that range from Hard Rock-inspired numbers, mixed with some mid-tempo groove to their traditional stomp-style, Thrashing that raises the energy considerably and even drops the energy level down into a more slower-paced crawl, with the addition of ballad-esque numbers that occur here. Which are also quite evenly mixed into the album as a whole. This is quite a dramatic variety that delivers on a dynamic level quite readily with this one, having such a varied, yet still contained feel and tone that carries throughout the album, as a proper whole, which makes for a highly-appealing time here, that offers up enough sections from each part of their career, that it readily allows for anyone to get into it.
With plenty of variety to get any fan of any point of their career covered, which makes this one of their brightest and most enjoyable releases in their vast catalogue, and ranks as one of the better releases of the year, which makes this an easy choice for fans of the band’s more recent output, or the band in general as well, as the Old School Thrash Metal scene overall!!

Classic Rock covers EP by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Anthrax have always had a thing for the odd cover. Search early albums and you'll hear their takes on Black Sabbath and Sex Pistols. Then, of course, there's the legendary version of Public Enemy's "Bring the Noise", a song that played a massive role in their success.
For the "Anthems" EP, they tackle six classic Rock radio staples from their teenage years: Rush's "Anthem", AC/DC's "T.N.T.", Boston's "Smokin'", Journey's "Keep on Runnin'", Cheap Trick's "Big Eyes", and Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak". Beside cover songs from some of the band's favorite acts of the 1970s, EP features two versions of "Crawl", a song from their previous studio album "Worship Music".
The EP was recorded during 2012 at various locations. Although it was initially scheduled to be released as part of a Special Edition of "Worship Music", the record was released both separately and on a Deluxe Edition. It was released on March 19, 2013 through Megaforce Records in North America, and three days later by Nuclear Blast in Europe. This was the band's last release to feature lead guitarist Rob Caggiano, who left the band subsequently.
"Anthems" isn't a statement of some grand scheme to introduce their fanbase to six of their big influences. "Anthems" is about five guys, most of whom have been playing together for their entire adult lives, having a good time with what they do. While it's hard not to wish for a bit more, it's easy to admire what they give us and why, even if none of the above is as surprising as they think it is. All in all, "Anthems" is an interesting diversion while fans wait for the next album!
The “Anthems” received favorable reviews by music critics and debuted at number 52 on the Billboard 200, selling approximately 8500 copies in its first week of release. By April 10, 2013, "Anthems" had sold 14000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

This is the sensation of 2011 – Thrash Metal legends Anthrax, one quarter of "The Big Four", are back with what can be called one of the most anticipated albums of the past few years!
With Joey Belladonna back on vocals, this album is set to kill! The stunning single "Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't" already showcased the power and strength Anthrax regained during the past years. "Worship Music" follows the bands tradition of fast paced, yet anthemic songs with a lot of sing-along potential and can best be described as another Thrash Metal classic in the vein of "Persistence Of Time"!!
It is their first album of original material since 2003's “We've Come For You All”, and the first album since 1990's “Persistence Of Time” to feature vocalist Joey Belladonna.
The album was delayed due to issues with the departure of vocalist Dan Nelson from the band, and the re-joining of John Bush who ultimately decided not to commit to the album. The album's creation went through a lengthy process, with work beginning as early as November 2008. The band would eventually reunite with vocalist Joey Belladonna, whom the band finished recording with on April 2011.
The record debuted in the United States at No. 12 on The Billboard 200 chart, their highest chart position since 1993's “Sound of White Noise”. Album sold 28000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. As of September 2012, “Worship Music” has sold 100000 copies in the US.

The third full-length studio album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Sharpening the band's sound with excellent production and increased emphasis on speed and aggression, "Among The Living" is the finest album of Anthrax's career with many a memorable refrain, fantastic riff, and tasty solo, sporting fantastic lyrics on top.
"Among The Living" was the breakthrough album and sold close to 100000 copies in the UK. This has to be Anthrax's best album that they have ever released. It has couple of the best Metal songs of all time which are: "Among The Living", "Caught In A Mosh" and "I Am The Law". Scott Ian and Dan Spitz are excellent guitar players. And Anthrax is also one of the best Thrash Metal bands of all time!
Album features "I Am The Law" - a tribute the legendary comic book character Judge Dredd, and "Efilnikufesin (N.F.L.)", which needed to be read backwards in order to get the sense of what the band were on about. And it was a celebration of the life of the late John Belushi. Elsewhere, Anthrax show a socially aware side to their personality on "Indians", while "Caught In A Mosh" connected them firmly with their fans, who’d spend most of a gig moshing around in a frenzied elevation which was a depiction of the impact the music had on them. Album was certified Gold by the RIAA on July 31, 1990. The BBC has described the album as "arguably their big breakthrough", and "often cited by fans as their favorite Anthrax album".

Re-release of the fourth full-length album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Unlike "Fistful Of Metal", "Spreading The Disease" or "Among The Living" this album doesn't have so much fast guitar riffs. There are still good guitar riffs though some is a little repetitive to. "State of Euphoria" is not a miss and is one of their most underrated albums. The guitars have a very filling sound on here. At this time, most Thrash albums had guitar's which had a kind of flat sound. Like it was there, but it was just missing something. This album basically used all the space in the studio to get the sound right. The bass is hardly ever heard but when it is, it's very Steve Hariss-esque. The drums are very tight on this album, as well. On the last 3 albums the drums were a little loose and rehearsed, but on here they are tightened down incredibly.
Although the album contains some of what would become Anthrax's best known songs such as "Antisocial" and "Be All, End All", critical reception was lukewarm. The album failed to live up to the expectations, commercial and otherwise, set by the band's previous releases, “Among the Living” and the “I'm the Man” (EP).
The album reached #30 on the Billboard 200 chart in late 1988 and was certified Gold by the RIAA.
Anyway, it's a great album and a Anthrax classic that every fan should have!

Fifth full-length album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Anthrax returned to the studio in the fall of 1989 with Mark Dodson (who produced the previous album, "State Of Euphoria") to start work on their fifth album. Recording of the album was difficult, with a large structure fire causing the band to lose more than $100,000 worth of gear and their recording studio on 24 January 1990. Following this disaster, the band moved to a different studio in late February of that year to finish work on the album.
The album's tone is decidedly more contemplative and mature than the bulk of Anthrax's previous work. Abandoning the humor and comic book references which were common on their previous albums, the lyrical focus of "Persistence Of Time" is the need for tolerance and peace.
Reaction to "Persistence Of Time" was mixed, with critics and fans alternately panning and praising this darker sound. The band also introduced a Progressive side of the music which had not been present in their earlier work, while also placing a reduced emphasis on typical Thrash Metal elements such as fast tempo and aggression.
"Persistence Of Time" was the last full Anthrax album to feature vocalist Joey Belladonna until 2011's "Worship Music".
Album was nominated in 1991 for a Grammy Award in the Best Metal Performance category. "Persistence Of Time" highest position on the Billboard 200 chart was No. 24. It was certified Gold by the RIAA on January 17, 1991. As of 2006, album had sold over 275000 copies in the U.S since the beginning of the SoundScan era, bringing the total sales numbers to over 775000 copies in the U.S.

Re-release of the ninth full-length studio album and compilation album, in one set, by legendary American Thrash/Speed/Groove Metal band.

"We've Come For You All" was released on May 6, 2003 through Nuclear Blast in Europe and Sanctuary Records in North America. This was the first Anthrax record to feature Rob Caggiano on lead guitar and their final studio album with John Bush on vocals. The album was recorded over one year span at the BearTracks Recording Studio in Suffern, New York. The cover art was designed by comic book artist Alex Ross, while the production was handed by Scrap 60 Productions team. The Who vocalist Roger Daltrey and Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell made guest appearances on the album.
The album received positive reviews by contemporary music critics, with About.com crediting it for "getting the band back on track". Despite this, the album only reached number 122 on the Billboard 200, with first week sales of 10000 copies.
Re-edition of "We’ve Come For You All" also features two bonus tracks - an acoustic version of "Safe Home" and a cover of Ramones’ "We’re A Happy Family".

2004’s compilation “The Greater Of Two Evils” was made up of early fan favorites, recorded "live" in the studio over the course of two days. Covering their history from 1984-1990, "The Greater Of Two Evils" is made up of fourteen classic Anthrax songs the fans demanded by way of the thousands of votes from all over the world received on the band’s official website, anthrax.com. Based on those votes, the band entered Avatar studios in NYC one cold and snowy weekend and took a trip back in time to revisit songs from their formative releases "Fistful Of Metal" (1984), "Spreading The Disease" (1985), "Among The Living" (1987), "State Of Euphoria" (1988) and "Persistence Of Time" (1990). These classic tracks were re-recorded for the first time with John Bush on vocals!
