Remastered re-release of the second compilation album by the legendary American Rock‘n’Roll/Glam/Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band.
Compilation of rare or never released studio versions of original songs that Twisted Sister performed while playing the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut club circuit from 1978-1981.
"Rock will live tomorrow, but disco has to die today" - the line sung by a young and defiant Dee Snider during "Rock 'N' Roll Saviors" in 1978 summed up much about the fiercely independent approach that Twisted Sister would take after he joined the band in 1976. Originally billing itself as the New Jersey version of the New York Dolls and covering Glam classics of the day after Jay Jay French formed the act in 1972, it would be Snider's entry that breathed new life into Twisted SIister. Snider's larger-than-life stage presence, enormous songwriting contributions, and his urging to retain the Glam roots/image but move into a Harder Rock and, ultimately, Heavy Metal direction would result in Twisted Sister becoming kings of the club circuit and set the stage for later commercial successes. Those stories and more are contained in the extensive liner notes included with this second reissue of "Club Daze Volume I: The Studio Sessions", a 13-track collection of songs recorded in 1978-1979 and 1981 ("Shoot 'Em Down") that offer new fans a view into the Rock 'n Roll roots and old fans a chance to revisit lost classics.
Those only familiar with the '80s output may be surprised to hear the staunch 1970s Rock and Hard Rock sounds characteristic of many of these songs. Cuts like "Follow Me", "Can't Stand Still", and the sizzling "Lady's Boy" are reminiscent to varying degrees of everyone from Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes (and similar Detroit Rock acts) and Chuck Berry to T. Rex and Brownsville Station. AC/DC was an admitted influence on Snider, the fat bass/drum propulsion and basic riffing also noticeable, while Slade figured in to Glam shaded, Pop-influenced cuts like "I'll Never Grow Up, Now", which would hint at the hooks 'n attitude sound the band perfected in the 80s. Also included is the original, rougher-edged cover version of "Leader Of The Pack", which would later show up on 1985's "Come Out And Play" to a less than enthusiastic fan response. "Under The Blade" and "Shoot 'Em Down" were most indicative of the Metal direction in which the band was headed, both tracks ending up on debut full-length "Under The Blade".
Depending on your completist proclivities, "Club Daze Volume I: The Studio Sessions" is a nicely packaged collection of some pretty darn good '70s Rock tunes that probably escaped the radar of many fans outside of the New York/New Jersey area. Those Twisted Sister fans that missed the 1999 Spitfire of the album are strongly advised to snap up this Armoury remaster!

The second re-release of the third full-length studio album by legendary American Glam/Heavy Metal band.
With their comedic videos and bubblegum undertones, hit singles "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock" helped the band bridge the "beauty gap" into MTV acceptance, and a competent power ballad in "The Price" would cement their consumer-friendly status. But it was the irrefutable menace of tracks like "The Beast", "S.M.F.", and the massive "Burn in Hell" that connected with their loyal fans and displayed Twisted Sister's true power.
According to RIAA certification, "Stay Hungry" is the band's most successful album by far and the only certified Platinum. Eventually the album gained multi-Platinum status with U.S. sales of more than 3.000.000 copies by 1995.
Metal Rules ranked the album #5 on their list of the "Top 50 Glam Metal Albums". In 2016, Loudwire ranked the album at number 6 on their list of the "Top 30 Hair Metal Albums". In 2017, Rolling Stone listed the album at No. 76 on its list of the "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time".
In 2004, the band re-recorded all nine songs from this album and re-released them under the title “Still Hungry”.
This 25th Anniversary Edition re-release includes a Bonus Disc with 16 previously unreleased tracks and 2 new recordings!

From the solid sales of their independently released debut album, 1982's "Under The Blade", New York's Twisted Sister were finally rewarded with a major record label contract, courtesy of the Atlantic, who issued their first domestic release, "You Can't Stop Rock & Roll", a year later.
The album followed the same Raw Heavy Metal direction of their debut, and was even more consistent from a songwriting and performance standpoint. The title track is a new recording of the track "Can't Stop Rock And Roll" which appeared on the compilation "Son Of Homegrown" in 1982.
Several of Twisted Sister's best anthems reside her, the title track (which was one of the band's first videos to be aired on MTV), as well as "The Kids Are Back", "We're Gonna Make It", and "I Am (I'm Me)". But besides a ballad that vocalist Dee Snider wrote especially for his wife, "You're Not Alone (Suzette's Song)", the album consists of 100 percent Heavy Metal - "Like a Knife in the Back", "Ride to Live, Live to Ride", "I've Had Enough", and "I'll Take You Alive".
The songs "The Kids Are Back", "I Am (I'm Me)," and the album's title track were released as Singles. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA in November 1995, for selling over 500,000 copies in the USA. Metal-rules.com put the album in their list of "The Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums" and on their list of "The Top 50 Glam Metal Albums".

The fifth full-length studio album by legendary American Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band.
After the commercial disappointment of "Come Out And Play" it was to be a two year gap before Twisted Sister would release their fifth studio album. AJ Pero had vacated the drum stool to be replaced by Joey "Seven" Franco but the nucleus of Twisted Sister was still together and looking back on this album, it was panned by the music press and manage to receive even worse reviews than "Come Out And Play", it should now be considered an undiscovered gem amongst band's fans worldwide.
Album was strongly influenced by Hair Metal bands, although the band split after its release and had a lot of conflicts with this record which led to a split. The album was originally supposed to be a Dee Snider solo record but the record company demanded it be recorded and released as Twisted Sister. "Love Is For Suckers" was released by Atlantic Records on August 13, 1987. The tour for the album ended in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 10, 1987. Two days later, on October 12, 1987, vocalist Dee Snider announced his departure from the band.
The Twisted Sister sound and image had also changed from the bestial, back street brawling racket of "Stay Hungry", "You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll" and the excellent "Under The Blade". Perhaps this was more to do with America's white middle class trying to stop the likes of Twisted Sister denigrating the masses with their perverted and unsolicited music or the bands new found financial happiness but for whatever reason Twisted Sister had lost something and "Love Is For Suckers" was to be the bands final studio release.
This would be Twisted Sister's final studio album, as all albums since have been compilations or live albums (with the exception of 2004's "Still Hungry" which was a rerecording of 1984's "Stay Hungry" and "A Twisted Christmas" in 2006).
Dee Snider has stated that he likes many of the songs on the album, vocally. However he feels that if they play any of them live, it may bring back bad memories for the band. No songs from this album appeared on the band's 1992 greatest hits album "Big Hits And Nasty Cuts".
There have been conflicting reports over the years as to exactly what the recording line-up for the album was. Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda and Mark "The Animal" Mendoza are all credited in their normal roles but some or all of the guitars and bass were recorded by credited guest musician Reb Beach.
Looking back now "Love Is For Suckers", whilst not reaching quite up to the bands early rabble rousing, street fighting, brash and over the top standards of early releases still makes a great noise! Sounding more aggressive and eager to amend previous misdemeanors, Snider and Co. deliver an album containing more than a few stand out, trade mark Twisted Sister anthems.
So, here we have a lost classic and one of the best and most overlooked Rock albums of the late 80's!!
