The second full-length solo album by legendary American singer, the frontman of Twisted Sister.
"Dee Does Broadway" is the first album by Dee Snider after 12 years without any release, following debut solo album "Never Let The Bastards Wear You Down" (2000).
The original idea started in 2009 with an exchange of phone messages between Alice Cooper and Snider. Over several years, both had worked with the guitarist and producer Bob Kulick on his various "tribute" albums (Snider sang on a Cooper tribute record), and had both been impressed with the quality of his work. In fall 2010, Snider was starring in the hit Broadway musical "Rock Of Ages". The idea of doing an album of Rocked-out show tunes himself made sense and a deal was struck with Razor & Tie, the only label that Snider's manager, Phil Carson, was sure could manage a record this unique. Their support and success with Twisted Sister's "A Twisted Christmas" gave Snider confidence in their ability to make an abstract project like this happen.
Guests on the album include the Grammy and Emmy Award-winning Cyndi Lauper, Clay Aiken and Nick Adams.

Second remastered re-release of the fourth full-length album by legendary American Glam/Heavy Metal band.
Twisted Sister was left in a strange position after the massive breakthrough success of their 1984 album, "Stay Hungry". While the album contained more of a Pop edge than their more raw preceding albums ("Under The Blade" and "You Can't Stop Rock n' Roll"), the Heavy Metal masses worldwide still embraced the album, as did the lucrative MTV/Pop audience. After the success of "Stay Hungry", Twisted Sister was faced with the question whether they should continue in a more Pop-oriented direction or return to their early Heavy Metal roots. They tried to do a bit of both, but the approach proved unsuccessful since "Come Out And Play" marked the start of the band's decline. According to an interview with lead singer and songwriter Dee Snider, found in the CD sleeve of "Club Daze, Vol. 1: The Studio Sessions", The Shangri-Las cover "Leader of the Pack", which was first included on "Ruff Cuts" (1982) (an early EP mostly unknown to those outside the core fan base), was intended to boost the band's popularity while keeping old fans pleased. Eventually neither that nor "Be Chrool To Your Scuel", featuring such musical guests as Alice Cooper, Brian Setzer and Billy Joel among many others, received the reaction that the band and their record label were expecting.
From a musical viewpoint, the album was not a huge departure from "Stay Hungry", despite a little more commercial sounding production by Scorpions/Accept producer, Dieter Dierks.
The title track featured Dee Snider clicking bottles together saying "Twisted Sister, come out and play" several times in the beginning, a reference to the 1979 cult classic movie "The Warriors", when the main villain, Luther, chants "Warriors, come out to play" while clicking bottles together as well. The song "Be Chrool to Your Scuel" is a parody of the Beach Boys' song, "Be True To Your School", though the music is unique. It also featured Alice Cooper (also on vocals), Billy Joel on piano, Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats on guitar and Clarence Clemons of the E-Street Band on saxophone. The video was banned from MTV, as it was deemed too violently anti-school.
Although the album sold more than 1000000 copies, earning it Platinum album status, the supporting tour was a fiasco, with cancelled dates and low attendances. Drummer A.J. Pero left the band after the tour ended in 1986, contributing to the chaos which eventually led to band's breakup after the release of "Love Is For Suckers" in late-1987.
When originally released on Atlantic, the cassette version of “Come Out And Play”, as Japan Edition of CD, included a bonus track, "King of the Fools," which was included on the Spitfire Records CD reissue in 1999. This remastered re-release includes the same bonus track as well!

Remastered re-release of the second compilation album by the legendary American Rock‘n’Roll/Glam/Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band.
Compilation of rare or never released studio versions of original songs that Twisted Sister performed while playing the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut club circuit from 1978-1981.
"Rock will live tomorrow, but disco has to die today" - the line sung by a young and defiant Dee Snider during "Rock 'N' Roll Saviors" in 1978 summed up much about the fiercely independent approach that Twisted Sister would take after he joined the band in 1976. Originally billing itself as the New Jersey version of the New York Dolls and covering Glam classics of the day after Jay Jay French formed the act in 1972, it would be Snider's entry that breathed new life into Twisted SIister. Snider's larger-than-life stage presence, enormous songwriting contributions, and his urging to retain the Glam roots/image but move into a Harder Rock and, ultimately, Heavy Metal direction would result in Twisted Sister becoming kings of the club circuit and set the stage for later commercial successes. Those stories and more are contained in the extensive liner notes included with this second reissue of "Club Daze Volume I: The Studio Sessions", a 13-track collection of songs recorded in 1978-1979 and 1981 ("Shoot 'Em Down") that offer new fans a view into the Rock 'n Roll roots and old fans a chance to revisit lost classics.
Those only familiar with the '80s output may be surprised to hear the staunch 1970s Rock and Hard Rock sounds characteristic of many of these songs. Cuts like "Follow Me", "Can't Stand Still", and the sizzling "Lady's Boy" are reminiscent to varying degrees of everyone from Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes (and similar Detroit Rock acts) and Chuck Berry to T. Rex and Brownsville Station. AC/DC was an admitted influence on Snider, the fat bass/drum propulsion and basic riffing also noticeable, while Slade figured in to Glam shaded, Pop-influenced cuts like "I'll Never Grow Up, Now", which would hint at the hooks 'n attitude sound the band perfected in the 80s. Also included is the original, rougher-edged cover version of "Leader Of The Pack", which would later show up on 1985's "Come Out And Play" to a less than enthusiastic fan response. "Under The Blade" and "Shoot 'Em Down" were most indicative of the Metal direction in which the band was headed, both tracks ending up on debut full-length "Under The Blade".
Depending on your completist proclivities, "Club Daze Volume I: The Studio Sessions" is a nicely packaged collection of some pretty darn good '70s Rock tunes that probably escaped the radar of many fans outside of the New York/New Jersey area. Those Twisted Sister fans that missed the 1999 Spitfire of the album are strongly advised to snap up this Armoury remaster!

Re-release of the sixth full-length album by the legendary American Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band.
In real this album is a 2004 re-recording of the 1984 album "Stay Hungry".
"Stay Hungry" is to Twisted Sister what "Metal Health" is to Quiet Riot, "Operation: Mindcrime" is to Queensrÿche and "Appetite For Destruction" is to Guns n' Roses - it isn't their only worthwhile release, but it is widely regarded as their best and most essential. So when Twisted Sister decided to re-record one of their albums in 2004, the most logical choice was "Stay Hungry" - and "Still Hungry" finds a reunited Twisted Sister revisiting that 1984 classic 20 years later.
Of course, it's impossible to improve upon perfection, and some fans of Sister's '80s output will wonder if favorites like "We're Not Gonna Take It", "I Wanna Rock" and "Burn in Hell" really needed to be re-recorded. But here's the thing: according to guitarist Jay Jay French, "Stay Hungry" wasn't perfection - at least not from a production standpoint. French had problems with the way Tom Werman produced "Stay Hungry"; Werman and Atlantic Records insisted on a glossier, lighter sort of production, while Dee Snider and his bandmates had envisioned a tougher, harder, heavier sound (and didn't get their way).
Stylistically, "Still Hungry" isn't a big departure from "Stay Hungry"; Twisted Sister plays the same nine songs in pretty much the same fashion and offers them in the same order (adding seven bonus tracks, which range from 2000's previously released "Heroes Are Hard to Find" to some tunes that were written in the '80s but went unfinished).
On "Still Hungry", bassist Mark Mendoza's production does, in fact, give "Stay Hungry"'s nine songs a dirtier, less glossy sound - and these 2004 performances are undeniably inspired. Twenty years obviously haven't robbed Snider, French or Mendoza of their enthusiasm for this material. Nonetheless, the original, Werman-produced 1984 version of "Stay Hungry" remains Sister's most essential disc; casual listeners should start out with "Stay Hungry", not "Still Hungry". But for collectors and hardcore fans, "Still Hungry" paints an enjoyable, interesting picture of the sound that Snider and friends originally had in mind for their most famous album!
The version of "I Wanna Rock" from this album is featured in “Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s & Burnout Paradise”.
