The sixth full-length studio album by legendary British Hard Rock band.
American version by Geffen Records, completely remixed by Keith Olsen.
Originally released on 30 January 1984 in Europe, by Liberty/EMI, the album was remixed for the American market, later issued on 16 April 1984 in North America by Geffen. In Japan, it was issued a "European" Mix release date on 23 March 1984, and an "American" remix on 21 December 1984 by CBS/Sony. Widely regarded as a moderate success, it helped the American market to open up for the band's sound and breakthrough throughout the later 1980s.
Two different editions of the album exist, each with its own unique qualities. The original "European" mix was criticized as "flat" sounding, while the "American" remixed version compromises a more modern approach, giving Whitesnake the "voice" that it wanted. The remix ultimately marked a change in the band's sound, closer to the American Glam Metal Rock scene.
This version features some different guitar solos to the European edition, with the addition of John Sykes as a third guitarist layered on top of the original guitar parts recorded by Mel Galley and Micky Moody. The original bass guitar parts recorded by Colin Hodgkinson were completely replaced by returning member Neil Murray's bass guitar parts on this version and it also includes some new keyboard parts by Bill Cuomo, differing from the original recording.
It was their fourth top 10 album in the UK, peaking at number 9. In 1988 the album re-entered the US charts due to the success of the self-titled “Whitesnake” album (1987 in Europe), and is certified double Platinum. It was the final Whitesnake recording to use the band's original "snake" logo.

The second full-length studio album by American Heavy/Power Metal.
WildeStarr was originally founded in 2003 by Metal veteran Dave Starr (formerly bassist of Laaz Rockit, original member of the legendary Vicious Rumors 80s line-up, later even playing with Chastain in the late 90s), in association with well-known powerful female vocalist/keyboardist London Wilde. Their first album, "Arrival" (2009), received very positive critics by numerous webzines and metal magazines worldwide.
The progression is huge on their second album, as the production is much better and the new member, drummer Josh Foster, injects some new dynamics and freshness into those great Power Metal tracks, very much influenced by Judas Priest and even more clearly by Vicious Rumors.
An outstanding concept album, inspired by the work of the great Edgar Allan Poe. Strong melodies, glistening harmony guitars, and a dark and powerful sound in the vein of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Queensryche, Savatage and Crimson Glory. The harmonized guitars are everywhere, the pace is quite fast and the ultra-high pitched vocals are very similar to late Carl Albert's (R.I.P.) (ex- Villain / Vicious Rumors). Miss London sounds as pretty much like as she was the little sister of Ralf Scheepers (ex- Tyran's Pace / ex- Gamma Ray / Primal Fear). 
The Black Sabbath "Neon Knights" cover song isn't perfect, but it allows streamlining & optimize the characteristics and the sound of the band. Strangely that with this cover the Vicious Rumors influence is more than obvious.
This is a very good album, that has a 80s air in all over the songs, razor guitars, strong arrangements and a fantastic singer! If you are into Primal Fear, Judas Priest, Helstar, and "Digital Dictator" / "Welcome To The Ball"’s era Vicious Rumors, this is an essential release for you!!

There are literally tons of great Canadian bands out there and Will Of The Ancient is one of the greatest in last years! Melodic, yet heavy, fast and brutal in its very own way, the musical aesthetics of “To Our Glorious Dead” makes this album head and shoulders above band's first release. Although mixing various influences, the music found on this album is highly original and epic in every possible way.
Although they have big shoes to fill, they build upon Ensiferum's sound with their sophomore effort while simultaneously incorporating touches of their own. Think of Ensiferum minus the minor Melodic Death Metal influence and instead with a combination of Black, Folk, and miscellaneous Metal sub-genres, all backed by Pagan themes. The mix and match works extremely well, despite the fact that the style tends to jump all over the place, and makes Will Of The Ancients appear as if they're seasoned veterans this early into their career.
Musically, "To Our Glorious Dead" offers no surprises because the band wears Ensiferum on their sleeves, but each member displays his craft with expertise. Perhaps the most impressive musician is the drummer, who rattles off lightning fast blast beats in the midsection of "Trench Raider", but the rest of record is no slouch, either. Songs like "The Trapper", "Shield of Stone" and "The Stars like Dust" push boundaries with their random-sub-genre-meets-Folk-Metal aesthetic that, quite frankly, is Will Of The Ancients' main drawing point.
"To Our Glorious Dead" is a record no one saw coming, but the majority of listeners still welcome the music with open arms, because it covers the lack of a decent, recent Ensiferum release.
Ensiferum fans, rejoice - your newest obsession is here! Stunning debut indeed!!

The lyrics tell the story of self-created fears, constant fighting against personal limits and the embracing of human nature. The landmark of the album is the non-stop blending of different elements that take the listener through contrasting emotions perfectly combined to trap him into the vortex of his subconscious. Every song of the album is unique. Heavy and technical guitar riffs may combine with symphonic Orchestras and tight breakdowns may be followed by Industrial keyboard elements. Songs with more of a metalcore-style verse may turn into a Power Metal-like chorus. The listener never knows what to expect. "Cyclicity" with all these contracting elements is more of a total listening experience than the serving of a particular Metal style. Despite that, "Cyclicity" will be an all-time favourite for fans of Progressive and Melodic Death Metal.
