TINA TURNER “What's Love Got To Do With It (Extended Version)” /12” Maxi-Single/

A compilation album by legendary American Pop Rock/Soul singer.
Released March 2009 to coincide with the European leg of Tina’s 50th Anniversary Tour, "The Platinum Collection" is a beefed-up version of "Tina!", a compilation released in the run-up to her 2008 world tour. Whereas "Tina!" was released in North America, "The Platinum Collection" was released in Europe a few months later in anticipation of the European leg of her tour. 
"The Platinum Collection" is a three-disc set with nearly all of Tina’s solo singles as well as some songs with Ike Turner. It’s almost definitive at 48 tracks in length. And it includes all of Turner's major hits, including six Ike & Tina Turner-era recordings ("Nutbush City Limits", "River Deep, Mountain High", "I Want to Take You Higher", "Get Back", "Come Together", "Proud Mary"), and goes all the way up to the latter-day hits "When the Heartache Is Over" and "Whatever You Need" from her most recent studio album, "Twenty Four Seven" (1999), and "Open Arms" - the one-off single from her best-of compilation "All the Best" (2004). In addition to all the hits, "The Platinum Collection" includes a couple new songs co-written by Guy Chambers ("It Would Be a Crime", "I'm Ready"), and fortunately it also includes her stunning collaboration with Italian superstar Eros Ramazzotti on his 1998 hit "Cose Della Vita". Unlike "Tina!", "The Platinum Collection" includes the studio versions of "I Can't Stand the Rain" and "Let's Stay Together" rather than live recordings. 
All in all, "The Platinum Collection" is a treasure trove of hits by Turner. Not only does it include all of her solo hits, but it also includes several songs released by others on which she is featured as a guest (e.g., "Tonight" with David Bowie, "Tearing Us Apart" with Eric Clapton, "It Takes Two" with Rod Stewart).
"The Platinum Collection" reached #14 in England.
The box set features similar cover artwork to “Tina!” compilation CD, released at the end of 2008.

The first re-release of the first official compilation album by legendary American Pop Rock/Soul singer.
The album includes Turner's most popular hits since her comeback in the early-mid 1980s. It also includes three new, previously unreleased, songs: "Love Thing" (UK Airplay No. 13), "I Want You Near Me" (No. 22 UK), and "Way of the World" (UK Airplay No. 6 and UK No. 13), as well as a re-recorded dance version of Turner's classic "Nutbush City Limits", all of which were also issued as Singles in 1991 and 1992.
Everything else here is either top-notch or campy, certifiable fun. A duet with Rod Stewart on "It Takes Two" supplies the fun. The two other new tracks tacked to the end beat out most of the album cuts the collection passes on, plus you get the bombastic "We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)" without having to buy a dull soundtrack. The oldest cut by years is the monolithic "River Deep-Mountain High," which is a bona fide classic.
The album is Turner's biggest seller in the UK, where it sold 2.1 million copies. It was certified 8× Platinum in the UK and stayed on the UK charts for over 140 weeks. The album sold over 7 million copies worldwide.

The seventh full-length studio album by legendary American Pop Rock/Soul singer.
It was Turner's third album release after her massively successful comeback five years earlier with "Private Dancer" and her third and last album with the label.  Dan Hartman produced most of the tracks on the album, including the hit single "The Best", which has gone on to become one of Turner's signature songs. The album features collaborations with prominent musicians, including saxophone solos by Gary Barnacle on at least three tracks and guitar work by Dire Straits' frontman Mark Knopfler, who co-wrote Turner's hit "Private Dancer", on the title track.
Although the album was not a major success in Turner's native United States, it was a huge international hit, especially in Europe. The album sold over six million copies worldwide. In the UK alone, it sold over 1.5 million copies, entering the UK Albums Chart at number one (Turner's first album to do so there) and staying in the Top 100 for a year and a half. The album also reached number one in numerous other countries, including Germany and Sweden, and topped the overall European Chart for four weeks.

The debut full-length studio album by legendary American Funk/Soul singer.
Released while Turner was still a member of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, the album was an attempt by her husband, Ike Turner, to expose her to a wider audience. Although the album did not chart, it earned Turner a nomination in the "Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female" category at the 17th Annual Grammy Awards.
Fine mix of Country, Folky and Soft Rock tunes done in Tina's inimitable style. On this effort, she flexes her voice from its softest to its usual rough tone and moulds it perfectly around each cut. Drawing from a wide range of composers from Dylan to Dolly Parton to Kris Kristofferson to Hank Snow, ms. Turner should gain easy Soul and Pop play and possibly some Country play. Surprisingly effective are the slow cuts, and Tina proves just as adept an interpreter of other's material as she is a singer of original songs.
"Tina Turns The Country On!" remains unreleased on CD.

In 1984, a 45-year-old Tina Turner made one of the most amazing comebacks in the history of American Popular music. A few years earlier, it was hard to imagine the veteran Soul/Rock belter reinventing herself and returning to the top of the Pop charts.
After several challenging years of going solo after divorcing Ike Turner, "Private Dancer" propelled Turner into becoming a viable solo star, as well as one of the most marketable crossover singers in the recording industry.
A reflection on the emptiness of a stripper's life, the dusky title song is as poignant as it is depressing. Without question, this was Turner's finest hour as a solo artist.
"Private Dancer" became a worldwide commercial success, earning multi-platinum certifications, and remains her best-selling album in North America to date. In 1989, the album was ranked number 46 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of "The 100 Greatest Albums of the '80s". In 2001, VH1 named "Private Dancer" the 95th greatest album of all time. Slant Magazine listed the album at number 63 on its list of "Best Albums of the 1980s". In 2020, the album was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

The first re-release of the first soundtrack album by legendary American Pop Rock/Soul singer.
Originally released in 1993, "What’s Love Got To Do With It" was a commercial and critical success. The album was the soundtrack for the Tina Turner biographical film of the same name and featured a collection of songs, some of which were re-recorded from Ike & Tina Turner period, as well five brand-new songs, one of which, "I Don't Wanna Fight", became a top 10 hit in both the UK and US. The album also includes Turner's version of The Tramps' disco classic "Disco Inferno", a song she had often performed live in concert in the late seventies but never previously recorded in studio, two tracks from 1984's "Private Dancer", the title track and a re-mixed version of "I Might Have Been Queen".
The album reached #1 in the UK, also making the top 10 in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Canada, and the top 20 in the US. It went on to be a Platinum record across the world, including the UK, US and Switzerland.

Recorded live in London on November 26, 1999, "Celebrate!" was a TV-Special and home video to celebrate Tina’s 60th birthday.
It features almost songs from the album "Twenty Four Seven". Tina and her band were accompanied by the London Community Gospel Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
Between the songs, some friends and colleagues, like Sting and Cher, congratulate Tina to her birthday.
