The sixth full-length studio album by cult British Heavy Metal band.
If you haven’t heard of the Heavy Metal band Satan before, you must have been living in another dimension. These guys have been around since the dawn of times (The NWOBHM era of 1979), and have always delighted us with some very good music throughout the years. Especially live, where they have never been able to disappoint. Not so much in the studio, which resulted them in becoming Pariah and even Blind Fury. The albums released under those names are alright, but missing the real Satan vibe. In 2004 a live album saw the light of day. “Live In The Act” was very good, and resulted in the band coming out of Hell to play for us mere mortals again. From 2013 they have been releasing studio albums again, and this time around they do have the impact the band deserves.
"Earth Infernal" is a product of the times that birthed it, and could only be the work of Satan. Having churned out cutting edge Heavy Metal throughout the 80s, their sixth full-length maintains the high standard they long ago set. It is perhaps their timeliest release. "For two years, the world has been preoccupied with politics and pandemics. While we were all looking the other way, our planet has continued to get hotter," says guitarist Russ Tippins. "Our Earth is now infernally hot. Almost irreversibly so. We are on a one-way trip to Hell and dragging our children and their children along with us. Yes, Satan has something to say about global warming."
Musically “Earth Infernal” might not harbour anything new for Satan and their fans, the songs are without exception bloody marvellous. Following up 2018's stunning "Cruel Magic" is no easy feat, a record that Tippins views as a "game changer" for Satan. Describing the record succinctly as "Brutal, up-tempo, loud guitars", it is classic Satan but sounds fresh and new, the band experimenting a little. And perhaps more importantly, Satan will continue to spread the important message at the heart of the album.
This cult act return with another splendid opus that offers us more of the band's legendary and unique style. Wonderfully tight musicianship centred around profoundly enjoyable and atmospheric songwriting. This is a band that have stuck to their guns and done so in a truly rewarding manner time and time again. With Satan, it has always been quality and not quantity and this rings true for “Earth Infernal”, a masterfully written and gripping listen! No cliché, here; hail Satan!!

The fifth full-length studio album by cult British Heavy Metal band.
Satan – a band that proves some legends never die. They formed almost forty years ago in 1979 and were very much an important part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) that we all so love and cherish.
They released several albums in the 80s under the names Satan, Pariah, and Blind Fury. Satan’s debut album, "A Court In The Act", has withstood the test of time and remains one of the finest achievements of the NWOBHM. Its Speed Metal tinged riffs are truly unforgettable, and with a mighty vocalist and rhythm section to boot. Satan went radio silent in the late 80s before they came out of nowhere and hit us with 2013’s "Life Sentence".
It’s clear from the very first track that Satan’s still got it, and we’re in for yet another classic. The production found on this album is more classic sounding and roomy than the last two efforts. It’s mixed well, and it almost sounds like it was produced in the 80s. "Cruel Magic" is an enjoyable listen and undoubtedly one of the best albums of the year.
One thing is very certain: Satan seems to be incapable of writing a bad album. The band’s sheer consistency and quality almost forty years after their initial formation is virtually unheard of. It’s almost like Brian and the gang haven’t aged at all, and they’re still riding the high from the 1980s. Perhaps they’ve found a way to harness some form of temporal magic?
"Cruel Magic" is yet another notch in this legendary band’s belt, a testament to their innate ability to write kick ass Metal!
