Born January 31, 1921, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, Lanza was a classically-trained vocalist, who recorded everything - from operas, to musical comedy and to popular music. He died October 7, 1959, in Rome, Italy, aged 38 years. He was the world's greatest tenor of the 40s-60s.

The second re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary American Death/Thrash Metal band.
Even though this was the first official full-length recorded by Paul Speckmann, backed up by the soon-to-be cult line-up of former Death Strike comrade Chris Mittleburn on guitar and Bill Schmidt on drums, Master were already a revered name in the underground.
Master's first album was originally recorded in 1985 for Combat Recordings, but eventually shelved. In 1990, the album was first re-recorded in Chicago (later released by Hammerheart Records) but Nuclear Blast didn't approve this recording and had the band record the album again at Morrisound Studios. As it turned out, the third recording (which was eventually released as "Speckmann Project") was also not approved by Nuclear Blast and the Chicago recording was remixed instead by Scott Burns.
Packed with songs still legendary to this day (“Pay To Die”, “Funeral Bitch” or the instrumental “Terrorizer”) and a storming rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Children Of The Grave”, Master's self-titled album is still one of Death Metal "desert island" albums. "Mangled Dehumanization", "Pay To Die", "Re-entry And Destruction" and "The Truth" are songs originally written by Death Strike (pre-Master).

The seventh full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
With "Youthanasia", Dave Mustaine began moving Megadeth away from its Thrash roots, incorporating synthesizers into their sound and writing subtle, textured songs. The album features 12 tracks with accessible song structures, specifically aimed for radio airplay. The lyrics were also altered, in order to make the music more inclusive for wider audience. These changes were met with mixed opinions from music critics, who noted the band moving away from their Thrash Metal roots.
This is the last Megadeth studio album to feature drummer Nick Menza. It is also the first and so far only album where Vic Rattlehead does not appear at all in any tangible form, save for a limited edition collectible card advertising the Megadeth comic distributed by Chaos! Comics, which shows Vic in Hell reading a scroll.
The album debuted at #10 on Billboard Top 200 chart and was certified Platinum in 1998 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipping one million copies in the United States. The first 500000 copies of "Cryptic Writings" in the U.S. were released with silver background album cover. Two years after its original release, the album sold 850000 copies in the United States and won widespread praise from Rock radio programmers. The song "Trust" was nominated for a "Best Metal Performance" at the 1998 Grammy Awards and became the band's highest charting song on the Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.

The fourteenth Single by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Released in UK only, it is the fourth Single from the band's fifth full-length studio album, "Countdown to Extinction".
The song, written by Dave Mustaine, deals with the theme of a failed suicide attempt. The song has often been thought to promote suicide, what is incorrectly, according to Mustaine: "This is a song about how many times I tried to kill myself and just couldn't get the fucking job done. This is "Skin O'My Teeth"! That's about people who want to end it and just can't get it together. You know, they cut their wrist; it's just not deep enough. Or they decide to get hit by a car and it just breaks their leg or something. This song in no way condones suicide. Life sucks, that's why people get fat and lazy; this is "Skin O' My Teeth".
The release also includes the previously unavailable tracks "Holy Wars (General Schwarzkopf Mix)" and a live version of "High Speed Dirt".

Special Japanese Promo-edition of the third single by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
It was also released as the third and final single from their fourth album "...And Justice For All". It is one of the band's most popular songs and has remained a permanent live staple since the release of the album, making this the most played song from the album "...And Justice for All". Like "Fade to Black" and "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", the song starts off slow and clean, but as the song goes on, becomes heavier and faster, leading up to a tapping solo by Kirk Hammett and a dual guitar section by Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield.
"One" was written in November 1987 by Metallica's principal composers James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. The song's theme and lyrics are based on Dalton Trumbo's 1939 novel "Johnny Got His Gun", telling the tale of a soldier who is hit by a land mine and loses his limbs, eyes, ears and mouth. His mind functions perfectly, however, leaving him trapped inside his own body (which could also be described as a special form of locked-in syndrome). Trumbo directed the movie adaptation in 1971, from which the footage for the "One" music video is taken.
"One" is a favorite of many Metallica fans, and thus is a fixture of the band's live performances. When played live, the song is usually played with guitars tuned down by one semitone (a permanent fixture of their studio and live work since the post Metallica era, save for "Death Magnetic" in the case of the former) and is preceded by pyrotechnics and the same sounds of war such as machine guns, and bombs exploding as heard on the recorded version. The song also features heavy strobe lighting during the heavier half of the song, namely before the Hammett solo.
"One" was band's first Top 40 hit single, reaching number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Japanese edition of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
It is the first full-length Metallica album to feature bassist Jason Newsted, following the death of Cliff Burton in 1986 (Newsted had previously participated on the cover album “The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited” EP, which was his first recorded work with Metallica). It's also the last Metallica album with producer Flemming Rasmussen.
Metallica's previous studio album, "Master Of Puppets" (1986), was their last under their contract with the record label Music for Nations. Manager Peter Mensch wanted them to sign with British record distributor Phonogram Records. Phonogram manager Martin Hooker offered them "well over £1 million, which at that time was the biggest deal we'd ever offered anyone". His explanation was that the final figure for combined British and European sales of all three Metallica albums was more than 1.5 million copies.
"...And Justice For All" marked the band's gear-shift from Underground heroes to the major league. Containing the band's first Top 40 Single, the horror-filled "One", the album's hard-hitting lyrics and darkly intense feel delighted their ever-growing fanbase, reaching number six on the Billboard chart.
After years of refusing to release music videos, Metallica released its first for "One". The video was controversial among fans, who had valued the band's apparent opposition to MTV and other forms of mainstream music. Slant Magazine ranked it number 48 on their list of the "100 Greatest Music Videos", saying that Metallica "evoke a revolution of the soul far more devastating than that presented in the original text". The guitar solo was ranked number seven in Guitar World's compilation of the "100 Greatest Guitar Solos" of all time. Additionally, website Noisecreep classed the song ninth among the "10 Best '80s Metal Songs".
The album was acclaimed by music critics for its depth and complexity, although its dry mix and nearly inaudible bass guitar were criticized. It was included in The Village Voice's annual Pazz & Jop critics' poll of the year's best albums, and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1989, controversially losing out to Jethro Tull in the ill-fated Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental category. The Single "One" earned Metallica their first Grammy Award in 1990 (and the first ever in the Best Metal Performance category).
Although Metallica's music was considered unappealing for mainstream radio, "...And Justice For All" was highly successful in the US. It became Metallica's best-selling album upon release, peaking at number six on the Billboard 200, where it charted for 83 weeks. More than 8 000 000 copies have been sold in the United States since 1991, when Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales. It was certified Platinum nine weeks after it was released in stores, and 1.7 million copies were sold in the US by the end of 1988. Since its release, the album has scanned more than 8 million copies in the US. It was certified 8× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2003 for shipping eight million copies in the U.S. With this album, Metallica received substantial media exposure, becoming a multi-Platinum act by 1990.
"...And Justice For All" achieved similar chart success outside the United States. It topped the charts in Finland, peaked within the top 5 on the charts in Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, and remained on the UK chart for six weeks. The album managed to peak in the top 10 on the Norwegian and Swiss album charts. "...And Justice For All" received a three times Platinum certification from Music Canada for shipping 300 000 copies, a Platinum certification from IFPI Finland for having a shipment of little over 50 000 copies, and was certified Gold by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) for shipments of 250 000 copies. It was awarded Gold by the British Phonographic Industry in 2013 for shipping 100 000 copies in the UK. "...And Justice For All" was surpassed commercially by the band's following album, "Metallica" (1991).
The album was ranked at number nine on IGN's "Top 25 Metal Albums". Guitar World lists it 12th on the "100 Greatest Guitar Albums" from a 2006 reader poll, and lists all of its tracks on "The 100 Greatest Metallica Songs of All Time". Kerrang! listed the album at number 42 among the "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time". Martin Popoff ranks it at number 19 in his book The Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time, the fourth highest ranked Metallica album on the list. It is featured in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. In 2017, it was ranked 21st on Rolling Stone's list of "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time".

"Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. For Love)" is the duo's final consecutive Single to reach No. 1 on the German Singles Chart. It was released in Germany and in other European territories on 28 April 1986, it peaked at No. 1 in Germany on 16 June 1986 after spending two weeks at No. 2 position. The Single spent four weeks at the Top and total of 14 weeks on the Top 100. While "Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. It’s the first and main Single from the band’s third full-length studio album, "Ready For Romance".
"Brother Louie" was released on 27 January 1986 and reached No. 1 on 3 March 1986 in Germany. It's the band's fourth consecutive Single to top the German Singles Chart, after "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "You Can Win If You Want" and "Cheri, Cheri Lady".
The Single spent four weeks at the top and total of 17 weeks on the German chart. In the United Kingdom, it peaked at No. 4 in the charts and went Silver for shipments in excess of 250.000 units. "Brother Louie" was also certified Silver in France for selling over 250.000 units.
It is believed that the song was written by Dieter Bohlen about producer Luis Rodríguez, as he was a close associate of Bohlen and worked on many of the Modern Talking songs.
In 1998, not long after the duo's reunion, a remixed version of the single was released, titled "Brother Louie '98". The Single, released in a new sleeve, was also successful. It went Gold in France for selling over 250.000 units.
The music video of "Brother Louie" contains footage from the 1984 film "Once Upon a Time in America", interspersed with the band members playing on a stage.

The sixth full-length studio album by legendary German Pop/Disco band.
The last album before duo's first official separation, in fact released after their split-up in 1987 (Modern Talking reunited in 1998 and released the comeback album "Back For Good").
The musical stuff of the album was different from the previous works of the duo. It raises themes of war and violence ("In 100 Years", "Who Will Save The World"). Also, there is a Christmas song "It’s Christmas", recorded with a large children's choir. The album closes with a short a cappella reprise of the song "In 100 Years".
Due to lack of a promotional campaign in support of the album, it failed to match the commercial success of the duo's previous releases. The tension in the relationship between Bohlen and Anders was so serious that there could be no talk of any joint performances at that moment. In addition, even before the release of the album, Dieter Bohlen presented to the public his new solo project Blue System and the Single "Sorry Little Sarah", with which Bohlen reached #13th in the charts. Another reason for the commercial failure of album was the scandalous reputation of Modern Talking and Thomas Anders in Germany.
The album's only Single, "In 100 Years...", charted at number 30 in Germany. "Locomotion Tango" was released as a Single in the Scandinavian countries in 1988.
