Underground executioners Evil Eruption return from their ashes with this volcanic album in old school vein of True Black Metal. Band members have no name, no face... Just Evil!
Evil Eruption is a band which began its journey since 1996, in 1999 split up without having released anything. In 2004 they decide to re-form the band and they are active until today while they have released two demos and one split.
Already by the first track of the debut full-length album, you understand that you are going to listen to fast, European Black Metal with dark, very commanding atmosphere, mid paced passages full of power and hyper speed outbursts. The riffs mainly are fast tremolo ones, while several times we come across to also fast, dark, dirty riffs and a few Thrashy ones. They are very interesting and they deliver the feelings and the atmosphere very easily and schematically. The good structure and the talent of the band regarding composing the tracks, have made them very interesting in an overall aspect, changing from warlike, destructive fast Black Metal to solid, atmospheric and fast Thrashy.
The guitars are the dominant instrument delivering every note with absolute accuracy but at the same time with passion and energy. The bass is audible, but you have to make an effort to distinguish its lines that they are quite technical and they fill the sound very well. The vocals in the bigger part of the album are harsh Black Metal vocals which are changed though depending on the atmosphere and the feeling of each moment. With their expressiveness and their passion, they make the compositions even more impressing and interesting. Drums have very interesting lines with stormy outbursts, beautiful turnings and powerful passages. The production is good putting out a warm and bass sound which fits to the style of the compositions.
The work that the band has done in this album is impressing and anyone can understand that here we have one of the best releases of 2014. If you haven’t understood until now by the description, the album is so good that every Black Metal fan must listen to it! Buy it!!

The debut full-length album by Polish Thrash/Death Metal band.
Evil Machine is created by non-random crewmembers from and old, Metal Guard: Hal (Vader), Cyjan (Dead Infection), Cyprian (Conquest Icon) of finally possessed by hell Seba Semihazah. On the recording session appeared also some well-known guests from Christ Aony, Behemoth and Vader! That smelling with hell’s stench album contains of ten destroying everything old-sounding compositions - 43 minutes of rotten sounded Death Metal with Thrash and Doom elements and the stale, old-fashioned atmosphere!!
There are a lot of memories from 80’s here: echoes of Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, old Kreator, Poison, Venom or Sodom. Gentlemen don’t try to be original, but they play what’s in their heart, and as they’re old veterans, so they’re totally into old Metal classics. Also surprising is very archaic, dirty sound. Material was recorded in different studios, but for the final mix in went to Hertz Studio, which is known from clear, sterile sounding productions. This time material haven’t been marked with this stigma and kept dirty, basement sound. In the semi moment it sounds very selective.
It’s also worth mentioning, that next to the author’s songs of band there are two marvelously played covers. First one is “Power From Hell” by Onslaught with total vocals of Peter (Vader), and second one, “Die Hard”, comes from repertoire of NWOBHM gods Venom. And also here band reduced to dust everything that’s holy.
Evil Machine released ass-kicking debut. Including members of Vader (Peter), Behemoth (Seth), Christ Agony (Cezar), ex- Hate (Cyprian Konador) and Dead Infection (Cyjan), this album will pleased all fans of old school Black/Death/Doom Metal, especially fans of Hellhammer and old Celtic Frost!!

The fifth full-length studio album by Swedish-Dutch Melodic Heavy/Power Metal band.
Evil Masquerade is a Scandinavian band founded 2003 in Copenhagen by Swedish guitarist Henrik Flyman (Lacrimosa, ex-Wuthering Heights, ex-Moahni Moahna, ex-ZooL). Together with drummer Dennis Buhl (ex-Hatesphere), bass player Kasper Gram and vocalist Henrik Brockmann (ex-Royal Hunt) they set off to record the band's debut album that was released early 2004 under the name "Welcome To The Show". It almost immediately received worldwide recognition and made the charts in Japan at # 8. One year later, it was followed up with their second album, "Theatrical Madness".
A new singer Apollo Papathanasio (Spiritual Beggars, ex-Firewind, ex-Time Requiem) and bass player Thor Jeppesen entered the studio with Flyman and Buhl to record the album "Third Act". This album took the band to a new level of fame when it was re-released in 2007 in the USA, one year after the original release in Europe and Asia. The fourth studio album "Fade To Black" saw yet another change in the line-up, with only Henrik Flyman and Apollo Papathanasio remaining from the previous album. New members were drummer Daniel Flores (The Murder Of My Sweet, Mind’s Eye, Tears Of Anger, ZooL) and bass player Johan Niemann (Therion, Evergrey, Hubi Meisel, Demonoid, Mind’s Eye).
Flyman spent 2010 composing songs for the band's fifth album "Pentagram" that was released in May 2012. The recordings took place during 2011 and involved Flyman once again teaming up with the same members as on the band's third release: Papathanasio, Buhl and Jeppesen; together with the latest addition to the line-up, the band's first permanent keyboard player, Artur Meinild.
Songwriting and performances on "Pentagram" are significantly different from the prior albums. More specifically, the first few albums carried a melodic Euro Metal style, with Progressive hints and some Neoclassical influences, but "Pentagram" is a monster throwback to the early classic era of Metal. You can hear a lot of Dio, Sabbath, Deep Purple and Rainbow in the songs. It’s a striking difference, but an excellent collection.
One of the many highlights are the vocals of Apollo. His warm, full voice and impassioned delivery really bring back memories of when the singer voice had distinct qualities and singing ability, not just screaming. The twelve track album runs just over 40 minutes and the tempo is mid paced, leaning towards the slow side. The simple, elegant song construction allows individual performances' room to breath. It’s not a busy record full of orchestras, sound effects and dense layers by any means, it has a real stripped back early Metal vibe. Instead of a hundred riffs, Flyman picks some good ones and bolsters the songs with good choruses that are not too sickly sweet.
"Pentagram" is a great album, full of excellent songs and fine performances from Apollo, who never fails to impress.

The Debut full-length album by the Belgian Thrash/Death Metal band.
Band name refers to the well-known drama-thriller film "Evilenko" that dedicated to famous Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo.
Evilenko's debut album is a hybrid of grunting Death Metal and rhythmic Thrash Metal. While it doesn't do anything to re-invent the wheel or put Death-Thrash is new territory, the band does have a few tricks up its sleeve from being just another Legion Of The Damned clone. After a fast, upbeat churning introduction, the usual catchy chugs and grunts ensue with "My Own God". However, the real glory lies within the solo work as it has almost a completely different sound from what one would expect from typical Thrash Metal. Wavering, slow, and almost Doom Metal influenced, it will certainly draw fan attention and appreciation for stepping outside boundaries. Other tracks like "Leave You Behind" are a bit more Death Metal influenced with more of a standard chug and growl pace without so much the fast solos to mix up the song, but they still hold solid ground.
Here and there Evilenko will toss in a few politically charged spoken word samples, but they are so brief such as on "My Way" they don't really hold as much effect as one would have hoped, but still contribute to the overall message of "(disg)Race". "Fight For Justice" has one of the better lyrical deliveries and even throws in a few Hardcore elements with the backing 'gang chorus' that chimes in every once in a while, but to great effect. The closing "Bleeding" seems a bit rawer than its compatriots, making it seem like more of a demo track, but it still features some of the excellent guitar solo work that was heard on "My Own God".
Overall, the collection of tracks definitely makes a social statement that most Thrash Metal listeners will definitely look into with some curiousity. That's what the guitar solos are for! Good album!!

The third full-length album by russian Psychedelic Stoner/Doom Metal band.
Once again, the musicians bring to the audience their distinctive Doom Metal, whose features were established on their previous album, “Drunken Tales”. The Siberian Cosmonauts are doling more of that Stoner Rock meets Doom vibe. The band plays some great Stoner jams. The drummer feels like he's just loose, chilling and flowing free behind the kit while the bass and guitar work together to bounce between Crunchy jams and Doomy power chord mashing. The flute shows up to float along and bounce over the jammy bits to provide some buzzchill. Everything is based on a slow rhythm and dark atmosphere, pretty sad mood. The highlights of the album are female vocals and flute parts, which add so much beauty and harmony to the creations and sound. In general, this isn’t your typical Stoner or even Doom Metal album – this is so much more, no matter if you see it as experimental, or just not an ordinary one. The tracks also have male growling vocals and more traditional Stoner riffs, but the entire album is full of those flute sounds and additional female vocals, and that’s harmony already.
The components of success of Evoke Thy Lords remain the same: groovy guitars and hypnotic flute delivered in a Psychedelic way. However, now the music contains even more Space, Trance and, of course, more Mushrooms! The band managed to successfully mix traditional features of the genre and something that could be alien here. However, everything fits really well. Some more original and interesting creativity could be welcome, but the band showed its high value with success. A beautiful and solid album, indeed – try it, as it’s not exactly what you could expect from the title of it…

The debut full-length album by russian Gothic/Doom Metal band.
A gloomy dusk seems to hover over their songs. The melancholic atmosphere is quite superb, to be honest... The vocals can only be described as subtle growls, and this adds so much power to the melancholic atmosphere. With the dense, heavy riffing and drumming, to have the vocals only breach the surface of coherency makes for a killer musical experience. And with the addition of the clean female voice (also quite subtle) the atmosphere shifts towards eerie; as if walking across a field covered in fog, to be enticed by the beautiful voice of a huldra. It’s very intriguing. And the Doom is laced with some Folk music hints as a flute adds tons of catchy melody. All while a keyboard enhances the melancholy as it works its way through the background.
It’s all so subtle in a remarkably interesting way. Even the Doom, which is the base of the music, feels subtle. They change pace fairly often and the tempo can quite frankly overstep the boundaries of what would normally be considered Doom Metal, but the atmosphere never lets go of the firm hold it has on the genre. Mesmerizing melancholy in a way you haven’t heard it be presented before!!

Ewïg Frost put the pedal to the Metal with hellfire roaring out of their hoods. Their engines howling like you're speeding through post-apocalyptic deserts, while the end of the world is breathing down your neck!
A work recorded live at an old concert hall in Viena, but with no audience, trying to bring here the so evident "alive" character of this band. Mastered by Jack Control at Enormus Door Mastering (Darkthrone, The Darkness, etc.)...
The music is freaking great, with some remembrance of Motörhead, we have a mix of Speed Metal, Punk and some Black Metal influences. The instruments sound all very bombastic, fast and dirty. With up-tempo compositions, everything sounding very barbaric, bestial and aggressive; there is no way you’ll manage to keep yourself quiet and calm while listening to this nuclear bombardment!
The album’s production fits quite well the music they created, one more time, raw and dirty, as in most of the Black/Thrash Metal releases.
This is really an exciting, thrilling album, vicious, the music never sounds repetitive and the consistency of “Dirty Tales” is to be praised as well!!

The eighth full-length studio album by legendary Canadian Speed Metal band.
The second and last studio album with lead vocalist Jacques Belanger. With a view to his strong performance on "The Dark Command", and due to the fact that he also made a mighty delivery on this album, it's a pity. But the whole band carried on exactly there, where their previous full-length had stopped: Exciter delivered once again a harsh and pure Speed/Thrash Metal attack without looking left or right. Execration is innovative and flamboyant. It mixes up everything very artistically – flashy guitar-playing that wouldn’t be out of place on a technical album but is coupled with certifiably Death Metal parts, evocative of the wackier Morbid Angel. There’s sane and there’s schizophrenic, but Execration displays multiple personality disorders and yet it’s part of its personality, so to speak. It all sticks together during the execution.
The album’s got immensely dark parts that wouldn’t be out of place on an Immolation album, riffs so heavy that it would slice down a mutant body in one repetition, drumming that is animated as if it’s possessed by a writhing animal.
"The Acceptance Of Zero Existence" is an exceptional album that could easily be mistaken for anything else this genre produces by the dung load. This one lies there, shining bright, almost outcast by its looks, but it’s truly something else. More listens reveal its intricate fabric, sewn together using many different pieces of Death Metal textures. Rarely do you come across an album this heavy and brutal, which is also doing something innovative without losing its sound!

Followed after two years of silence, the new album is a barrage of uncompromising nuclear Grindcore with not lacking in melodic lines. As compared to the previous release of the band, “Embassy Of Hell” is definitely more dynamic, dark and aggressive, complicated and diverse as related to composition and technique. The material is well-thought-out and precisely adjusted.
The lyrics of the album are dedicated to diverse day-to-day realities of the ordinary people – from drinking and dancing to the impendence of robotization of human mind.
The CD also includes a badass grindcore version of “Black Metal” song originally performed by Venom. Those who feel a longing for old times may be happy to headbang with classic groovy riffs while the youngsters will appraise the fresh approach to the old school.

The second full-length album by Italian Progressive Power/Thrash Metal band.
Founded by Luca Bianchi and Tiziano Marcozzi, Exiled On Earth has been in the Metal game since 1995 under the moniker of Maelstrom. Having spent 16 years together (1995-2000) has paid off in many respects; the guys are a tight unit and work well together musically. This band keeps alive a sound, which has offshoots from Thrash and Progressive Metal.
Exiled On Earth’s sound features the fluidly delivered yet demanding musicianship of bands like Coroner and Helstar, approaching the Prog/Tech Thrash Metal idea in a way that is smoother in its execution and more songwriting oriented as a whole. Their talents bleed through at key moments throughout each song, preferring to get a lot out of relatively little compared to say Vektor or stylistic pillars Watchtower. Shifting tempos and sharp flurries of demanding man oeuvres populate this release with upper-register lead riffing that melds the previously mentioned Helstar’s poetic melodic sensibility with the cutting precision of groups like Forbidden and Germany’s Vendetta. It’s not *quite* Power/Thrash Metal but it touches on that fusion more than a few times, something bolstered further by the resonant mid to baritenor singing, carrying quite a few fleshed out melody lines.
The vocals play a larger part than they do in Thrash Metal in general and tend to run contrapuntally to the riffs and adding an extra layer of melody, comparable to classic Watchtower or Toxik. Although this is much more consonant as a whole, capable of a smooth Power Metal character or at times a grit-inflected Thrashy snarl, sometimes going into proto-Death growl territory. The rhythm section are far from slouching either with careful harmonies from the bass slithering around the riffs, quite noticeable during the more harmony driven, less intense portions. Drumming takes advantage of frequent shifts in aggression levels to work in careful patterns with quick, deft fills deceptively easy to miss. This might seem humble compared to many other bands given the Technical or Progressive tag but its strength isn’t in raw quantity of notes hit but the steady deliberation and careful, subtle nuance that is all too often missing in today’s theory book sorcerers.
Apart from a few moments where the songs sounded too similar to each other, these guys have put together an enjoyable album that demonstrates their musical experience. Those who long for the days when the Thrash Metal genre was something other than a self-referential in-joke should grab this album as soon as possible!

Debut full-length album by the Finnish Progressive Thrash Metal band.
It was selfreleased by band in 2012 on CD’r, but now re-released by Russian label on CD.
Finland's Exocosm are a band that unquestionably and deliberately falls into the Progressive Tech-Thrash crowd, proudly wearing their influences on their sleeve like the badges of honor that they are. Technical Thrash Metal has been somewhat nonexistent during the Thrash Metal resurgence of the past fifteen years with the only new bands of note being Mutant and Vektor, alongside a few Voivod releases and the reformation of Toxik and Coroner being the only real presence.
Straight off the bat, "Spiral Of Decay" is a monstrously impressive piece of work. Those jazzy mid sections, clean sections and tempo changes are incredibly immersive which isn't something that albums are usually capable of doing... it's all just so goddamn good for a first album!
Exocosm's "Spiral Of Decay" is sat comfortably next to Gama Bomb's "The Terror Tapes" as the biggest yet most welcome surprise release of the year. For a band to put out a debut release of this quality is utterly staggering, and Exocosm have slapped the stale Thrash Metal scene in the chops with their gigantic collective dongs in doing so.
If you thought Vektor was the only decent Progressive Thrash Metal band of the new Thrash era, you haven't heard Finland's Exocosm yet. Absolutely killer!
Buy "Spiral Of Decay" as soon as you can, it's incredible!!
