The fifth full-length studio album by legendary British Rock singer.
Tyler had changed musical direction from Country music in 1981, and soon after began working with Jim Steinman, who produced the album and wrote its most successful single "Total Eclipse of the Heart".
The album consists of dramatically re-worked cover songs, including the Creedence Clearwater Revival hit "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?". "Goin' Through the Motions" is a cover of the song by Blue Öyster Cult from their 1977 album "Spectres", while "Straight from the Heart" was the break-out Top 10 hit for Canadian Rock singer/songwriter Bryan Adams from his Platinum album "Cuts Like A Knife". The album also includes the song "Take Me Back", written by Billy Cross, a former Bob Dylan guitarist. Only two of the tracks were written by Steinman himself: the title track and the international No. 1 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart".
"Faster Than The Speed Of Night" reached No. 1 in the UK Albums Chart, and was certified Silver in the UK, Platinum in the US, and Double Platinum in Canada.

After the success of "Faster Than The Speed Of Night" in 1983, Bonnie Tyler went on to work with Jim Steinman on a next album. "If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)" was released as the third single after the international success of first single "Holding Out For A Hero", which was originally released in 1984 from the soundtrack to the film "Footloose". It was written by Desmond Child and produced by Jim Steinman.
Upon its release, "If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)" debuted at number 42 in France, rising to number 6 two months later. It was certified Silver by the SNEP with sales of over 250,000 copies in France. Elsewhere in continental Europe, "If You Were A Woman (And I Was A Man)" was a hit in Finland, Switzerland and West Germany, where it peaked at number 11, 16 and 36 respectively, the single stayed in the European Hot 100 Singles for 22 weeks. Bonnie Tyler (then known as Gaynor Hopkins) spent seven years performing in local pubs and clubs around South Wales between 1969 and 1976, first as part of Bobbie Wayne & the Dixies, and then with her own band Imagination. In 1975, she was discovered singing with Imagination by talent scout Roger Bell. She was invited to London to record two demos, "My! My! Honeycomb" and "Lost in France". After months passed, RCA Records contacted Tyler, announcing that they would be releasing "My! My! Honeycomb" as a single in April 1976.
Bonnie Tyler's debut album is filled with promise and indications of great things to come. Produced (and largely written) by Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe, who worked as her managers while she was signed to RCA, "The World Starts Tonight" walks the fine line between Country and Pop that was popular in the mid-'70s.
As an introduction to Tyler's voice, this was an impressive debut. But it merely paved the way for Tyler's teaming with Jim Steinman, when she would realize her true potential and start the second phase of her multi-faceted career. A formidable debut, highlighted by covers of "Love of a Rolling Stone" and "Piece of My Heart".
Two singles were released from the album. The first, "Lost in France", was certified Silver by the BPI for sales of over 250,000 copies. "More Than a Lover" was also a hit, but failed to make progress in the UK Singles Chart after the BBC banned the song for its controversial lyrical content. The ban resulted in the song only reaching number 27 in the UK.
Shortly after recording the album, Tyler had surgery to remove nodules from her vocal cords. The operation left Tyler with a permanently raspy voice.
On the week ending 10 March 1978, over a year since its release, "The World Starts Tonight" debuted at number thirteen on the Swedish Albums Chart. It reached its peak position at number two in the following week, remaining there for a total of three weeks. In the fifth running week on the chart, "The World Starts Tonight" fell to number six, replaced by Tyler's second studio album "Natural Force".

The ninth full-length studio album by cult Japanese Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
Bow Wow was one of the first Japanese bands to prove that domestic musicians could compete with Western Hard Rock acts. The band formed in 1975 by record producer Yoshimi Ueno, and was one of the first Japanese Metal bands. They were quickly signed to Victor and used the money to buy a truck that could double as a stage, which earned them interviews with many magazines and television shows. Yamamoto recalled that when he joined, he told the producer he was a guitarist and not a singer, but during recording someone suggested he sing in English, and he went to be second vocalist of the band. Bow Wow released their self-titled debut album in 1976. In 1977, Bow Wow opened for Aerosmith and Kiss on their Japanese tours.
When main former vocalist Mitsuhiro Saito left in the band in 1983, after releasing nine studio albums with the band, Bow Wow adopted a mainstream sound by recruiting lead vocalist Genki Hitomi and keyboardist Rei Atsumi, and renamed themselves to Vow Wow. They relocated to England in 1986, before former bass player Kenji Sano left the band the following year, and former guitarist Kyoji Yamamoto invited former Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray to replace him. After Murray left to join Black Sabbath, studio bassist Mark Gould played on Vow Wow's last album before they disbanded in 1990.

Bow Wow was one of the first Japanese bands to prove that domestic musicians could compete with Western Hard Rock acts. The band formed in 1975 by record producer Yoshimi Ueno, and was one of the first Japanese Metal bands. They were quickly signed to Victor and used the money to buy a truck that could double as a stage, which earned them interviews with many magazines and television shows. Yamamoto recalled that when he joined, he told the producer he was a guitarist and not a singer, but during recording someone suggested he sing in English, and he went to be second vocalist of the band. Bow Wow released their self-titled debut album in 1976. In 1977, Bow Wow opened for Aerosmith and Kiss on their Japanese tours.
When main former vocalist Mitsuhiro Saito left in the band in 1983, after releasing nine studio albums with the band, Bow Wow adopted a mainstream sound by recruiting lead vocalist Genki Hitomi and keyboardist Rei Atsumi, and renamed themselves to Vow Wow. They relocated to England in 1986, before former bass player Kenji Sano left the band the following year, and former guitarist Kyoji Yamamoto invited former Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray to replace him. After Murray left to join Black Sabbath, studio bassist Mark Gould played on Vow Wow's last album before they disbanded in 1990.

A lot of things have changed in Metal since 1989, the year in which Brainstorm's original lineup came together. Alternative Metal became much more prominent, Death Metal and Black Metal became more and more plentiful (especially in Scandinavia), Goth Metal gained an enthusiastic cult following, and Metalcore took the Metal/Punk union in an increasingly vicious direction. But none of those developments have had a major stylistic impact on Brainstorm, who were a Melodic Power Metal band when they started out in 1989 and continued to be a Melodic Power Metal band 20 years later on "Memorial Roots"!
Once again, the South German Power Metal quintet pulls no punches as they bash out a firework of dynamic, melodic and technical Metal. They make no effort to change with the times on this 2009 release; obviously, they reason that if it isn't broke, why do they need to fix it? And no, it isn't broke. "Memorial Roots" is a tad predictable - at least if one has been following Brainstorm for a long time - and you won't find a lot of surprises on "Cross the Line", "Ahimsa", or any of the other tracks. Brainstorm maintain their allegiance to the old-school Power Metal of the '70s and '80s, which is probably just as well because even though "Memorial Roots" doesn't take a lot of chances, the material is enjoyable nonetheless.
Besides, if Jazz, the Blues, Salsa, Folk, Bluegrass, Reggae, and Celtic music can have their classicists - that is, those who adamantly cling to the styles of a previous era - there is no reason at all why Metal shouldn't have them as well. "Memorial Roots" isn't an essential listen, but it's definitely a worthwhile listen for Power Metal diehards who haven't lost interest in Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, or Fates Warning's pre-'90s recordings and probably never will! Less aggressive than its predecessor "Downburst", the new album has a more straightforward and anthemic quality to it!!

But whatever the band may lack in spontaneous combustion, they rather make up for in clinical efficiency, which may not impress unconverted observers much, but is clearly something their established fan base has not only continued to support but very much come to expect: that's right, the expected. Be that as it may, since nothing is ever guaranteed where memorable songwriting is concerned, Brainstorm deserve much credit for keeping things relatively interesting within the confines of their limited musical range.

The debut full-length studio album by Swedish Modern Heavy Metal band.
This sextet is here to show the world that the Sweden does not only produce Extreme Metal bands or Symphonic Metal ones. Take a listen to “Faceless Strangers” and you’ll understand. It’s just a simple and melodic Heavy Metal band, but with a modern and aggressive outfit. It’s heavy and aggressive, but with amazing melodic aesthetics, and with a different personality. In some moments, we can feel the musical essence of Swedish Metal School, pulsing on their musical arrangements.
The sound quality is really great, in a way that we can understand all the little musical details of the work. But it is truly heavy when they need it to be, so we have no complaints about it. Musically speaking, band doing the same old and good Traditional Heavy Metal with a modern outfit (due to the tunes used on the musical instruments), and a catchy and good use of melodies. Their musical technique is not something exaggerated, with very good choruses, so be prepared to be hooked by songs as the aggressive “The Beast”, the charming melodies of the guitars on “Bagging Rainbows”, the heavyweight work of bass guitar and drums on the sinuous “Faceless Strangers”, the Hard Rock scent on the heavy song called “From My Hell and Back”, the abrasive and melodic weight presented on “Love Song”, and fine work of the keyboards on “Megan”. They are superb, so listen to “Faceless Strangers” and get yourself hooked!

This sextet is here to show the world that the Sweden does not only produce Extreme Metal bands or Symphonic Metal ones. Take a listen to “Faceless Strangers” and you’ll understand. It’s just a simple and melodic Heavy Metal band, but with a modern and aggressive outfit. It’s heavy and aggressive, but with amazing melodic aesthetics, and with a different personality. In some moments, we can feel the musical essence of Swedish Metal School, pulsing on their musical arrangements.
The sound quality is really great, in a way that we can understand all the little musical details of the work. But it is truly heavy when they need it to be, so we have no complaints about it. Musically speaking, band doing the same old and good Traditional Heavy Metal with a modern outfit (due to the tunes used on the musical instruments), and a catchy and good use of melodies. Their musical technique is not something exaggerated, with very good choruses, so be prepared to be hooked by songs as the aggressive “The Beast”, the charming melodies of the guitars on “Bagging Rainbows”, the heavyweight work of bass guitar and drums on the sinuous “Faceless Strangers”, the Hard Rock scent on the heavy song called “From My Hell and Back”, the abrasive and melodic weight presented on “Love Song”, and fine work of the keyboards on “Megan”. They are superb, so listen to “Faceless Strangers” and get yourself hooked!

Brides Of Destruction was formed by Nikki Sixx and Tracii Guns in Los Angeles 2002 initially with the name Cockstar after Mötley Crüe went on hiatus and Tracii left L.A. Guns. The lineup was rounded off with singer London LeGrand, keyboardist Adam Hamilton and Kris Kohls of Adema on drums. They were advised by radio programmers that the name Cockstar wouldn't be announced on air. They briefly adopted the moniker Motordog before settling on Brides of Destruction after it was suggested to Sixx by a friend. Hamilton left shortly after and was replaced by John Corabi, also formerly of Mötley Crüe, who became the band's second guitarist. They entered the studio with producer Stevo Bruno to begin recording. Kohls left the band in early 2003 but is still credited in the album for the songs "I Got a Gun", "Natural Born Killers", "Revolution" and "Only Get So Far" despite Sixx stating that his replacement, Scot Coogan, had re-recorded the drum parts for them. After recording his guitar parts for all the songs, Corabi left the Brides stating he wanted to pursue a solo career as his reasons. After recording was finished, the album was mixed by Grammy Award winning producer and mixer Steve Thompson. Initially it looked like the album would only see a Japanese release after signing a deal with Universal Records and failing to find a label for an American/European release. Due to this it looked likely the band were to split until they signed a deal with Sanctuary Records and set a release date that was pushed back a number of times eventually being released on March 9, 2004. Upon release, "Here Come The Brides" chart at number 92 on the Billboard 200 selling 13694 copies. The band announced the Honeymoon From Hell US tour to support the album with support from Amen and Living Things. They also played at festivals in Europe such as Download in the UK, Metaltown in Sweden and supported Alice Cooper for a couple of shows in Norway and Sweden.
"Here Come The Brides" is their most successful album being the only one to have a charting on the Billboard 200, it is also the only album that features bassist Nikki Sixx who would leave the band to rejoin Mötley Crüe for their reunion tour in 2005 and also the only album to feature John Corabi. The album's only single, "Shut The Fuck Up", failed to chart due to little airplay. "Only Get So Far" was originally written by Nikki Sixx for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
