The fourth full-length studio album by legendary Swedish Black Metal band.
Originally released in October 1988, through Music for Nations sublabel, Under One Flag, this is the first Bathory album that would use anonymous session musicians (credited under the Satanic pseudonyms "Kothaar" and "Vvort") until "Blood oOn Ice" released in 1996.
The album, although mostly Black Metal, includes some of the first examples of Viking Metal. According to the book "Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult" by Dayal Patterson, "Blood Fire Death" began a second trilogy, an era Quorthon described as the "pre-Christian Swedish Viking Era".
On "Blood Fire Death", Viking influences join for the first time the Black Metal coldness we are used to when hearing Bathory. A phenomenal masterpiece with a good balance between brutality and sublime melodies is the result.
In 2009, IGN included "Blood Fire Death" in their "10 Great Black Metal Albums" list. In 2023, Rolling Stone listed "A Fine Day to Die" as the 76th-best Metal song of all time.

The debut full-length album by Danish Thrash Metal band.
Battery making waves since their 2012 "Mental Pollution" EP. The band was formed in 2008 by drummer Andreas Joen and vocalist/guitarist Chris Steel after their previous outfit, Abattoir, disbanded. Since then they’ve released a trio of demos, the aforementioned EP, and now this, their first full-length album featuring ten solid Thrash metal tunes.
This is very much American-styled Thrash with a slight Crossover tinge, mainly in the manic vocal preaching of Steel who has a strained yet effective style. Musically it’s solid, often beefy and well-produced Thrash Metal with the usual influences ranging from San Francisco Bay Area crunch, a sprig of Slayer, Dark Angel et al and even the more Deathly influence of Possessed – again in Steel’s vocals.
While this 11-track opus rattles by, there are nonetheless some catchy numbers which stick in the head, the best examples being the paced ‘Pyramids Of Decept’, with its strong, yet smooth bass-lines, and the simmering menace of ‘Vermin Of Fukushima’, which begins as a Slayer-like dirge.
Far from being the world’s most groundbreaking thrash album however, "Armed With Rage" is still a furious cauldron stirred by those frenzied guitars and rumbling drums which Joen can be commended for.
Whether this platter has enough legs to carry it beyond the hordes of other Thrash bands piling onto the horizon we’ll just have to wait and see, but "Armed With Rage" boasts some very good numbers which should provide 40 minutes of assault and battery to the senses!!

Beast In Black is a Finnish-Greek-Hungarian band that was founded in 2015 in Helsinki by guitarist and songwriter Anton Kabanen, the former songwriter and ex-guitarist of Battle Beast. Like Battle Beast, the band's name is a tribute to the Japanese manga and anime series Berserk.
“Berserker” has a very obvious Power Metal sound, but it also wouldn’t be fair to say that’s all it brings to the table.  Within the ten tracks, your ears will hear a fine-tuned band that also adds in Classic Metal elements and even some non-Metal sounds; they play their music with such fervour and conviction that everything thrown into your ears is going to have honest, raw, emotional power to it. Yannis Popadopoulos was the right person to front this band — his expressive vocals are exciting and contain some of the best range you’ve heard in some time.  
The guitar riffs uses steady gallops, and traditional Classic Metal riffs than they do speed like some other Power Metal bands. It works better this way, as Anton and Kasperio Heikkinen are able to play full force while also keeping the songs grounded firmly into “pulverize your face,” area. Anton knows when to break down the walls and when to hang back a bit, to allow the other elements/instruments to shine. All too often, bands with “one main guy” tend to be nothing more than musical masturbation and too much show off time for one guy, but Anton brings the band together as a team. Together this team, this band called Beast In Black, have crafted one of the best Power/Classic Heavy Metal bliss albums you have heard! If you like this style at all, then you need this in your collection!!
"Berserker" ranked seventh on Finnish charts albums. It's also charted in Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland and France.

"From Hell With Love" is a homage to the eighties, so loved by Anton Kabanen – the founder and driving inspiration behind Beast In Black. Anton Kabanen was a founder member and musical leader of Battle Beast before leaving in 2015 citing musical differences. He promptly surrounded himself with a set of quality musicians in Papadopoulos, guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen and bassist Mate Molnar. For this second album, Atte Palokangas has replaced Sami Hänninen on drums.
Kabanen has a supreme talent for writing catchy melodies and hooks. The album picks up where their 2017 debut album, "Berserker", left off, instantly memorable melodies and hooks all delivered in founder Kabanen’s inimitable foot-stomping Power-House style. Virtually, every musical genre (Bar House and Rap) from the ’80s is included, making the album very commercial and instantly accessible across a broad audience.

Deluxe Edition re-release of the second full-length studio album by legendary Polish Black Metal band.
One of the most controversial and diverse albums in the band's career, the album is intriguing for several reasons: it not only featured keyboards and female vocals (by Celina, the ex-girlfriend of Nergal), but showed Behemoth's uniqueness from the start, with their novel combination of Black, Viking and Thrash Metal. It was originally released in January 1996 through Solistitium Records, and later by Pagan Records. The album is Behemoth's last release before their shift into a Death Metal sound. Finally released domestically in the USA, "Grom" is also the only album in Behemoth's catalogue with completely Polish lyrics.

It’s always had just the sound of Black Metal, and it finds the right moments to establish Black Metal scenery other than derived repetition. Behemoth decided to move forward into death metal with an interest in Sumerian gods and demons. The genre has changed, but you can spot the fascination in war and evil here too, and the ambition is very apparent. The album is completely memorable, with a style of their own the compositions manage to not be repetitive; it reaches and makes a unique and mature sound. Songs like “Hidden in a Fog”, “Entering the Faustian Soul” or “Hell Dwells in Ice” are undoubtedly the highlights of the album, but without taking merit away from the rest of the songs. Behemoth manages to be melodic, heavy, and atmospheric at different parts in the same composition, and they achieve this with the use of very few resources since they use the same ones throughout the whole album without it getting boring or repetitive. “Sventevith (Storming Near The Baltic)” delivers promising songs, but the band didn’t deliver their best, so their album ends up being a mere introduction to audiences to their first era.
Metal Blade Records has reissued the album, which includes a second disc of bonus tracks with four unreleased studio tracks and seven live tracks. Those just familiar with their more modern works, (anything from 1999 and onward, for sake of clarity), will find quite a different beast with this debut album.

Once upon a time, Behemoth played under-produced and mediocre Black Metal before venturing where their hearts told them. Behemoth’s debut is a very good and rock solid album. It’s always had just the sound of Black Metal, and it finds the right moments to establish Black Metal scenery other than derived repetition. Behemoth decided to move forward into death metal with an interest in Sumerian gods and demons. The genre has changed, but you can spot the fascination in war and evil here too, and the ambition is very apparent. The album is completely memorable, with a style of their own the compositions manage to not be repetitive; it reaches and makes a unique and mature sound. Songs like “Hidden in a Fog”, “Entering the Faustian Soul” or “Hell Dwells in Ice” are undoubtedly the highlights of the album, but without taking merit away from the rest of the songs. Behemoth manages to be melodic, heavy, and atmospheric at different parts in the same composition, and they achieve this with the use of very few resources since they use the same ones throughout the whole album without it getting boring or repetitive. “Sventevith (Storming Near The Baltic)” delivers promising songs, but the band didn’t deliver their best, so their album ends up being a mere introduction to audiences to their first era.
Metal Blade Records has reissued the album, which includes a second disc of bonus tracks with four unreleased studio tracks and seven live tracks. Those just familiar with their more modern works, (anything from 1999 and onward, for sake of clarity), will find quite a different beast with this debut album.

The tenth full-length album by the cult Polish Black/Death Metal band.
Given that "The Satanist" is not only the first album by Polish firebrands Behemoth in five years but also their first since frontman Nergal was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010, you might expect them to be restless at the start, to burst open in a characteristic tangle of Extreme Metal. But they begin slowly, a sinister riff cutting patiently through open air. The drums march rather than maraud, while the bass pads the pocket. It feels like the preamble of a classic Rock anthem, perhaps the sequel to “Hells Bells”. But really, Behemoth want to make sure you can hear Nergal and understand him when he opens with purely heretic invective. Rather than emerge as though they have something to prove through speed and precision, one of Heavy Metal’s most popular bands elects to return with something to say that’s as vile and startling as most any moment in their previously impious two decades. Even the precipice of death, Nergal implies, didn’t soften his sacrilege. "The Satanist" in many ways reflects a synthesis of their stepwise, two-decade journey between atavistic Black Metal, expert Death Metal and a mid-career hybrid of the two. "The Satanist" doesn’t give up on high-end recording; in fact, with its occasional exultant choirs, horn fanfares, and acoustic interludes, it’s a complex and deliberate affair. This time, the sheen only highlights what’s beneath the surface, revealing these songs’ eccentricities and thrills rather than buffing them out.
Nergal is careful to stretch his style sheet of references beyond the Devil and Christ; he folds Latin and Coptic concepts into these lines, even nodding to John Milton in one passing moment. There was some doubt, after all, if Nergal would even live long enough to make another album. And there was certainly more doubt than hope that, if Behemoth did finish a tenth record, it would stand somehow as a late-career renaissance. But "The Satanist" is a terrific coil of most everything Behemoth have ever done well, a strangely hopeful vision of hell wrested away from its very grip. A vital, crushing monster of an album, it feels as though the band is digging deep here, tapping into hidden reserves of infernal power to deliver an album of profane and powerful sonic destruction! Behemoth sound revitalized and ready to destroy everything that stands in their path, and fans should be ready to either go along for the ride or be crushed!!

Carlisle began work on the album in 1985 following the breakup of the well-known Punk/New Wave band Go-Go's, for whom she was the lead singer. Some songs on "Belinda" were written by Carlisle's former bandmates in the Go-Go's, Charlotte Caffey and Paula Jean Brown, while the rest of the tracks were written by other songwriters, such as the Bangles' Susanna Hoffs. Carlisle has a single co-writing credit on one track,"Gotta Get to You". "Band of Gold" was a hit song for Freda Payne in 1970, which Carlisle covered for this album. Although Payne herself does not appear on the album version of the track, John Luongo overdubbed and remixed the track for a single release, which included prominent backing vocals by Payne. The 7" Single was only issued in Canada (where it hit No. 91 on the charts), but Payne's vocals were also heard on the dance mixes of Carlisle's version of the song, which were issued on a 12" Single in the US. The various "Band of Gold" remixes would later appear as bonus tracks on the 2003 re-release of the album. "I Need a Disguise" was written by the team of Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg, who co-wrote the song with Susanna Hoffs, as it was originally intended for use by the Bangles. Kelly and Steinberg also co-wrote another song for Carlisle called "Dancing in the City", which she would eventually record and would later appear on the soundtrack for the 1987 movie "Burglar". "Stuff and Nonsense" is a cover of Tim Finn's song, originally performed by his band Split Enz on their 1979 album "Frenzy". The song "Shot in the Dark" appeared on the soundtrack for the film "Out of Bounds" (1986).
The album was supported by four Singles, with lead single "Mad About You", peaking at number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 in Canada. The album was successful in North America, peaking at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and at number 24 on the Canadian Albums chart. It was moderately successful in Australia, where it peaked at number 42 and charted for 12 weeks. Belinda was certified Gold in the US and Platinum in Canada, selling over one million copies worldwide.

The third Single from the second full-length studio album, “Heaven On Earth”,  by legendary American Pop singer.
Released in May 1988, it reached number seven, becoming Carlisle's fourth and last Top-10 Hit in the United States. It also charted at number five in Canada, ending the year as the country's 69th-most-successful Single.
"Circle in the Sand" was written by Rick Nowels and Ellen Shipley, who wrote many of Carlisle's Hit Singles in the late 1980s and into the early 1990s, including her signature song "Heaven Is a Place on Earth". The first known appearance of the song in progress is from the "Lost Heaven Demos" bootleg, which features a solid drum beat, lead keyboard line and simple bass with no guitars present, and completed lyrics. The final album version of the song features a unique lead keyboard theme provided by Thomas Dolby, combined with a thumping bass-line and accentuated with swirling and shimmering guitar, including some played in reverse during the bridge.
The music video, directed by Peter Care in Half Moon Bay, California, uses the Single Edit Version of the song and was released by MCA Records in March 1988.
