First re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary German Thrash Metal band.
Once a part of the legendary label Noise Records, hail the Bavarian maniacal Metallers of Vendetta! Forged in the early 80s and gained their status in the late 80s, they became quite a force in their scene and in Europe, even without making it to the first league. The band’s first two albums of the band have been considered as pure Thrash Metal classics.
The concoction of American oriented Thrash Metal, a nasty wave of Punk, an explosive taste of aggressive Speed, cohered with early Kreator, and textured musical complexity, ended up as a thing of beauty. The songwriting didn’t bring to the table the high-flying choruses of the 80s, which also could be noticed on some major hits of the bigger Thrash bands, yet Vendetta’s utter decisiveness and technical merits escalated the basic forms of the genre and overthrew the marketable elements.
Vendetta, along with others that cross paths in the 80s, proved that Thrash Metal is far more intelligent that what it really showed. It is not merely music for the pit, but also something that will rattle your head. This is a highly recommended Thrash Metal classic! Don’t miss it as it is still relevant even nowadays!!
Re-mastered re-release features live bonus track.

The third full-length studio album by legendary German Thrash Metal band.
Vendetta is a band of veterans. They were formed back there in the distant but glorious 1984. After the release of two albums, Vendetta disbanded in 1990 to come back in 2000. They recorded the demo "Dead People Are Cool" in 2003 and, once again, went on tour - this time with bands like Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, Dew-Scented, Overkill, Metal Church, Exodus, Testament & HateSphere. Also, they played at a few festivals.
Vendetta are everything that Metallica used to be. “Hate” is the album Metallica would be doing if they hadn’t sell-out. “Hate” makes you miss the good old times, when that big Thrash band was more than a bunch of sell-outs. With a bass player much better than Jason. “Hate” is as strong as a good coffee. Guitar riffs are clean and clear, intricate and groovy. A shiny piece of Oldschool Thrash Metal!
So, hold your breath, because Vendetta are gonna make you bang! In today’s terms, Vendetta would be considered a Technical Thrash Metal band, and, of course, they are!! They are more than that. Vendetta shows that time can pass by, but true passion for Metal won’t!!!

Second re-release of the third full-length album by the legendary British Heavy/Black/Speed Metal band.
A semi-concept album that tells the story of a war between Heaven and Hell where the latter side wins. Shortly after it reached the stores the HMV record chain withdrew the album from their shelves due to its anti-Christian content.
Though neither of their first two albums had sold in very large quantities (even by Heavy Metal standards), by 1983 Venom had become simply impossible to ignore. To be sure, their exceedingly Satanic posturing wasn't nearly as shocking as it was cartoonish, and their impenetrable dirge of embryonic Black Metal was known to clear rooms faster than a fire alarm, but somehow, these qualities only helped fuel the metal community's interest in the band. At the time, even their most promising New Wave Of British Heavy Metal contemporaries (Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, etc.) were still struggling to break out of the strictest Metal circles, but what they had, and what Venom craved above all else, was some measure of respect from the media, most of whom still viewed them as a trio of buffoons. So when it came time to record their third album, "At War With Satan", the band took desperate measures to try and validate both their technical ability as musicians and their songwriting capabilities. Their folly gave birth to the album's bloated magnum opus of a title track - a twenty-minute concept piece/sonic ordeal taking up the album's entire first half and dedicated to the lord of darkness himself.
Needless to say, Venom were simply not equipped to pull off this feat and much of "At War with Satan" is decidedly crap; and what memorable moments do crop up, are almost always neutralized by the track's massive, confusing girth. But once they got past this ill-advised anomaly, the band got back to what they did best: furiously compact two and three minute scorchers. Although they'd already squandered most of their inspiration on albums one and two, Venom's dwindling creative reserves still yielded a few very strong cuts here, most notably the blistering "Rip Ride", the vicious "Genocide" and the all-inclusive "Women, Leather and Hell". And when there's simply nothing left to say, Venom say it better than most, closing the album with the immortal relic "Aaaaaaarrghh" (possibly the funniest song ever recorded).
As with other Sanctuary/Neat re-issues, the 2002 version of "At War With Satan" is simply stellar, containing informative liner notes, rare photos and eight bonus tracks! Many of these singles ("Warhead," "Manitou") are actually better than songs that made the album, elevating "At War With Satan" 's overall grade quite a bit from its original configuration!!

Debut full-length album by Italian Death/Black Metal band.
This young band produced an excellent debut album forged in the most melodic and aggressive side of the genre. Veratrum plays a nice blend of Death Metal and Black Metal. Music sounds extremely technical and with good taste on instrumental arrangements. Some tracks have a heavy influence of aggressive Death Metal from 90’s, and reproduce this typical obscured atmosphere, mixed with epic melodies, and in a modern production. Some other tracks are totally immersed in modernity, almost sound Brutal Death Metal, and all influenced by Progressive sounds. The overall tempo on this album is fast agonized riffing, powerful drumming, and aggressive screaming, all conglomerated in brutal tracks.
If you're into a lot of pulverizing bands on the Osmose Productions label you for sure will like, no adore, Veratrum as well! A f*****g great blast-speed-into-hyperspace album!!

Third full-length album by Polish Symphonic Black/Death Metal band.
This Polish troupe, consisting amongst others of Orion from BEHEMOTH, Daray from VADER, seem to be on the verge of breaking through to a larger audience. The fact that VESANIA can boast of featuring artists from Poland's two biggest musical exports shouldn't be an obstacle for the band's prowess either. The cover art of "Distractive Killusions" portrays a sinister-looking jester mask sporting a twisted smile, giving the impression of a nightmare' carnival. This theme is carried on through most of the album. The music itself is carried by some very fast and impressive drumming, courtesy of Daray, together with epic guitarwork and keyboards that don't sound entirely dissimilar to DIMMU BORGIR. Orion's growling vocals are nothing spectacular, but they work well enough against the sometimes theatrical music. This theatricality can be extremely bombastic and over the top at times, but coupled with the more melodic keyboard passages it avoids straying into the territory of downright self-parody. The epic keyboard brass segments matching well with the brutal drumming and guitars. Orion's vocals have become more decipherable along with his improved English. Second full-length album by Polish Symphonic Black/Death Metal band.
New band of Orion (Behemoth) and Daray (Vader). This is the quintessential Vesania album. Clearly reflecting a band at their creative peak, it’s more focused than their previous release "Firefrost Arcanum" and far superior to the pedestrian "Distractive Killusions". The sheer brutality contrasting with the epic keyboards topped off with Orion's unique vocals makes for a grand listen. As stated earlier, Orion has quite a unique take on Black Metal vocals. His approach sounds almost like Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir fame, but with a few clean sections and a deeper, less raspy tone. Orion and Valeo are quite the veritable duo on the six-string. Interspersed throughout the album are plenty of great leads. “God the Lux” should be considered a landmark of Black Metal. It is a majestic accomplishment, and sits as one of the greatest Black/Death Metal albums ever!! Solo on "The Mystory" by Mauser (Vader, Dies Irae)!
Fans of Black/Death is general, and especially fans of Behemoth, go get this album!!

The sixth full-length album by Italian Black/Death/Thrash Metal band.
Violent Blast Metal! The soundtrack to the world ending!! Raw aggression coupled with frenetic beats and wailing solos... “Legion Deathblood” is heavy, fierce and evil and it’s what we need more of in Metal!!!
Vexed approaches Metal with solid basics. The riffs are catchy and evil, the solos are great, and the bass is thick and low; the drumming is fast and intense. Everything comes together to sound like it’s welcoming the devil to overthrow the Earth. It’s ominous and it’s heavy… and it’s going to kick your ass. The vocals here are not trying to sound like singing or growling. It’s yelling reminiscent of cross-examination, just not as frantic. The vocal style is delivered like a punch to the face. There’s a clear Motörhead influence that comes through and it fits the sound perfectly. A lot of the choruses seem inviting to being shouted along with.
The Thrash Metal sound of the band is focusing on the occult and reminds of Venom, however this is a rawer. You’re getting a blunt force attack of Metal. It comes at you like a psychopath with a chainsaw. It sounds ominous and aggressive and it nails the things about Metal that make it great! This album is an auditory berserker charge that highly recommend adding to any collection!!

The second full-length studio album by German Symphonic Power Metal band, formed by legendary guitarist, ex-member of Rage, Lingua Mortis Orchestra, etc.
The Symphonic Metal Powerhouse are back with sophomore release – and you simply will not hear a better Power Metal album that year!
It takes true talent to deliver a consistent Symphonic Power Metal album without dipping into trite tendencies or mawkish sentimentality, but Almanac have managed it with ease, and considering the talent at work here, that should come as no surprise.
Guitar-god Victor Smolski’s reputation speaks for itself and his ridiculously high standards are maintained throughout "Kingslayer". Seemingly unleashed from previous tethers, his work here borders on genius and these compositions astonish while still hitting you square in the gut with supreme Metal heaviness. Each track has more melodies than you’d think you can handle, more moments of pure theatricality than thought possible (without once stepping over into full ‘cheese’ territory) and, most importantly, at least one massive, ground-shaking riff that’ll make you want to start a mosh with your nearest and dearest.
It’s not just Victor who shines of course. Much should be said about the outstanding vocals on "Kingslayer" and while enlisting three (count ’em, three!) vocalists in the shape of Andy B. Franck (Brainstorm, ex-Ivanhoe), David Readman (Pink Cream 69) and Jeannette Marchewka (Lingua Mortis Orchestra) may suggest overkill, the layering and meticulous juxtapositioning of all 3 voices works seamlessly throughout, aiding the storytelling and providing a strong sense of grandeur befitting the sub-genre.
Unsurprisingly, there’s a concept to "Kingslayer", involving real life historical figures, kings and queens, etc.
This album slays, and you don’t have to be a fan of Rage, Helloween or any other Power Metal band, who’ve attempted and, occasionally, managed to deliver Power Metal perfection. You just need to love Metal of the purest kind, and with "Kingslayer", Almanac have quite probably delivered your Metal album of the year! Bombastic, effervescent and utterly-utterly brilliant!!

The debut full-length studio album by German Symphonic Power Metal band of legendary guitarist, ex-member of Rage, Lingua Mortis Orchestra, etc.
Formed by Victor Smolski after his departure from Rage, Almanac is a continuation of his work with the Lingua Mortis Orchestra.
Victor Smolski's style has been well established throughout his years with German Metallers Rage. Now he has felt it necessary to bring his stylings to the world of Symphonic Power Metal - under the moniker of Almanac. However, in actuality, "Tsar" ends up sounding more like the quirky, heavy riffs of Rage, with a few strings added to beef up the melodies of the riffs. Although this was recorded with a real orchestra - expect nothing like Rhapsody or Fairyland. What you can expect is some damn fine, riff-heavy, Progressively-tinged Power Metal done the way only a German can!
Fans of standard Power Metal fare will find plenty to enjoy beyond the crushing riffs of Smolski. There are points were the orchestra add a real stylistic flair - giving us an extra dimension to aurally examine. The melodic choruses are irresistible. There really is no stinker here, nothing reigns in the energy, and nothing treats the listener like a dullard. These are all smart, vibrant, enjoyable anthems for real music-lovers.
The production quality is top-notch. Every instrument, from the highest string right down to the rumbling bass guitar is allowed a moment to breathe. The bass becomes especially prominent in the sparse verses, where its tonic note brings an aura of true menace.
"Tsar" is indeed a splendid record. Even if Symphonic Power Metal is the section of the record store that you're most unfamiliar with, "Tsar" will inspire you to get acquainted with it! Yet even beyond genre criteria, Almanac is a band that finds strength in the most organic of ingredients and churns them into pure Metal!!

American edition of the debut full-length album by the cult German Hard ‘n’ Heavy band.
Victory was a band that should have become a household name in the United States but just never quite made it to the top. Even though they had a great career in Europe, the audience in the U.S.A. was never quite as accepting.
After releasing their successful self-titled debut album in 1985, they came back even stronger with “Don’t Get Mad… Get Even” and released the single “The Check’s in the Mail”. The song immediately charted and became a huge radio hit and the future looked bright for this band full of talented musicians.
Consisting of Herman Frank (Accept) on guitar, Charlie Huhn on vocals, Tommy Newton on guitar, Peter Knorn on bass, and Fritz Randow on drums, Victory proved to be as formidable as anyone on the circuit.
It’s still a mystery why this band is not mentioned alongside some of the mainstays of the “hair band” time period. If you were one of the fans who got “on board” back in the 80’s, you know what to expect with this re-release! If you are new to Victory and “Don’t Get Mad… Get Even”, you are in for a surprise, as this hard-edged, 80’s style Rock 'n' Roll will be an easy listen!!

The debut full-length studio album by Spanish Death/Doom/Folk Metal one-man band.
The Ethnic Doom/Death Folk Metal project of Nacho Hernández from Madrid was formed in 2007 with the basic idea to mix various Metal and Rock styles with Ethnic Folk music. In 2009 he released the EP “Templo” and 4 years later he returns with his first full-length album.
“Un Ocaso Trascendente” is a very experimental work and a really difficult to describe the album. Compared to the raw and somehow amateur sound of “Templo“, now there is a huge improvement sound-wise, especially in the Metal instruments, since the Folk acoustic parts were already very good.
There are 8 songs in the album, with a total duration a little over 37 minutes, including a beautiful cover of the song “Amatevi” from the world Ethnic-Electronica Sicilian band Agricantus. There are also many guest musicians in this album on bass, drums, flutes, acoustic guitars and vocals, making Vihmana’s sound more rich and natural. The music is very variable and each song is totally different from the other. Nacho Hernández combines middle-Eastern, oriental and Latin music with Folk Black/Death Metal, Progressive and Classic Rock, Soundtrack music and Doom Metal. He doesn’t try to play everything at once, but he prefers to move from one genre to the other. Vocal lines are also very variable, changing from brutal growls and clean Metal singing to rRock style and Folk vocals, according to the demands of each song. This is a very ambitious and difficult experiment and the risks of sounding somehow “random” were big. Luckily (and skillfully) ”Un Ocaso Trascendente” has a very strong atmosphere that keeps all these separate pieces together. Of course, their music is difficult to “digest” and you must give it more time before you fully comprehend it. The lyrics are again in Spanish and if you understand the language, you can read them in the booklet.
Vihmana is a very special band and their music is quite bizarre and unusual to categorize. Their new album is more mature, rich and better produced that the debut EP. This could be a very interesting listening for fans of Folk Experimental Metal and for other listeners as well, since it covers a great range of influences!
