Helga’s debut album draw on many influences, from Swedish Folk to Progressive Metal, Post-Rock to Black Metal to Pop. Distilling this into a single genre is a challenge.
United by singer, Helga Gabriel, the quintet delve into a musical alchemy on their pursuit of darker manifestations. Their debut album summons formidable drumming, spectral strings and chugging riffs into lamentations on mortality and mental health. Chanting psalms amidst birch and pine, her choral voice drifted like birds through an evening mist.
"Wrapped In Mist" is an incredibly strong debut from a very talented group of musicians, and if this is any indication of things to come, then the future is extremely bright for them indeed.
