The third full-length studio album by legendary British Heavy Metal band.
Released in 1983 by Neat Records, it was their last album outside a major label. Produced by Michael Wagener and Udo Dirkschneider, it didn't quite measure up to their classic debut, "All For One", but is a marked improvement over the second album, "Wiped Out". Largely credited with sowing the seeds of Thrash Metal along with fellow New Wave of British Heavy Metal trio Venom.
For those more familiar with the N.W.O.B.H.M., standout cuts such as "Break the Chain", "Take It Away" and "Mind Over Metal" help make this disc quite a treat!

If ever there was a band to walk hand in hand with Motörhead into war - it’s Raven. Apart from Motörhead, it’s fair to say that this trio has transcended all trends by way of continuing to churn out no frills hammering Heavy Metal. Raven is the sort of band that is very much part of Heavy Metal furniture; a trio which at times we’ve taken for granted due to their immovable sound and vision.
With their 13th full-length studio slab of concrete, and their first opus since 2009’s "Walk Through Fire", these guys continue to march through the trends and destroy all in their wake; forget Glam Metal, forget Grunge, and forget Nu-Metal, because Raven plows on like a war machine operated by lunatics hell-bent on wasting all those who do not bow down to their command. And so is it really a surprise then that the aptly titled "ExtermiNation" is another crushing slab of Old School Metal? Of course not!
Raven occupies the same sort of scrap-metal yard which the likes of Accept have made their home. Raven is one of those primitive forces with a no-care, can-do attitude – as reliable as hell and yet not just content with filling up their records with average lumps. Raven remains lethal in whichever path it takes; John Gallagher’s vocals always bubbling with malice in order to work in cohorts with the latest steaming riff, frothing bass-line and hammering drum.
"ExtermiNation" is one of those albums you’ll slap on when you’re pissed off or feeling at a loss with the Heavy Metal genre, because not only do this terrible trio reinstall faith in the genre, they will pump your lungs full of lead, and get your heart beating on a diet of molten steel!

The fourth full-length studio album by cult British Heavy Metal band.
It is the first album recorded in the United States for the major label Atlantic Records, after the British band had passed under American management.
Although considered a very important contributing force to the emergence of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Raven's grip on musical (and lyrical) credibility was always tenuous. Pure energy and enthusiasm is what saved this band, and they still were an influential, but limited, Metal band.
Even with its highly mainstreamed feel and pop appeal, this album still packs enough killer, and less filler to warrant your praise. These guys had more individuality than countless others, and more talent. Get this if you are a fan of the band or style!
"Hard Ride" is a re-recording of the song from Raven's debut album "Rock Until You Drop".

A blasting collection of 12 new songs that maintain the freshness of their Judas Priest inspired debut. If you're a Metalhead who has never experienced the bombastic, Judas Priest-influenced pleasures of Raven, it's best to cut to the chase and go directly to the British headbangers' most essential and enduring output. That means skipping Raven's inferior Atlantic work and starting out with its early recordings. 1981's "Rock Til You Drop" is Raven's best album, but 1982's "Wiped Out" runs a close second. When guitarist Mark Gallagher, drummer Rob Hunter, and the Rob Halford-influenced lead singer John Gallagher rip into such blistering, ferocious classics as "Star War", "Fire Power", "Battle Zone", and "Live at the Inferno", you're hearing a band that was very much in its prime and had yet to lose any of its freshness, imagination, or vitality.
"Rock Til You Drop" and "Wiped Out" are definitely the gems to start out with!
In 2005, “Wiped Out” was ranked number 495 in Rock Hard Magazine's book of “The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time”.
