"The Road To Or Shalem. Live At The Reading 3, Tel-Aviv" is a well-produced live album, which primarily features songs from their albums "Mabool – The Story Of The Three Sons Of Seven" and "The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR". It is also the last professional recording of the band to include both of their original guitarists, Yossi Sassi Sa'aron and Matti Svatizky, who helped shape the distinctive sound of Orphaned Land with their mastery of innovative oriental guitar riffs. This adds an extra level of significance to the release.
The production of this show is worth praising. In addition to the band, there are several special guests (including Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree) and various session musicians playing a variety of instruments, such as percussion, flute, bouzouki, and more. These elements are all perfectly blended with the "traditional" Metal instrumentation of Orphaned Land, resulting in a rich and diverse sound that brings the songs to life.
