The second full-length studio album by Danish Melodic Black Metal one-man band.
Fjorsvartnir is a one-man band hailing from Copenhagen. Band's music is a mix of Epic sound, a little of Enslaved, with Black Metal of the Scandinavian school. After 3 years in the making, the mastermind of this project, Fjorgynn, broth us newest studio spells, dedicated to all worshippers of cold Atmospheric Black Metal art.
Old fans will easily recognize the musical style and soundscapes; However, everything once again got a big boost up the scale; both in the compositions and the sound production of the album. It has always been a goal for Fjorsvartnir to strive higher and aim for a more pure degree of perfection every time a new album is forged. This time around, everything comes together with an even higher level of attention to detail and emotional atmosphere than the previous release. For those new to his music, the album captures the both, primitive side of Black Metal and the Atmospheric side, as well as some Technical sides, with a few surprises in stored. Through the listening, album keeps you guessing what will hit you next; it is very far from a dull listen.
Considering the instruments, there is a lot of them thrown in, from keyboards, acoustic guitars and even female vocals. Guitars are not technical, but they fill the songs great as they give a feel and emotion. Vocals are your typical Black Metal vocals, but they fit here perfectly, as any other type would feel out of place.
Through the eight tracks, it is hard to find a filler; there is no bad song on the album. Standouts are definitely the last three songs, which filled with aggressive guitars riffs, beautiful melodies, atmosphere and vocals. Eight songs and almost 50 minutes, full-filled with unique and gorgeous sounds of Black!
