ATROPHY “Chemical Dependency” /CD/

For the first time on CD, the debut demo album by cult American Thrash Metal band.
Originally named Heresy, Atrophy was formed in 1986. After releasing their debut 6-track demo "Chemical Dependency" (1987), the band was signed by Roadrunner Records, where they released two albums, "Socialized Hate" (1988) and "Violent By Nature" (1990), before disappearing into obscurity, and then some 30 years later to re-appear. At their early career, Atrophy toured the U.S. and Europe with fellow Sacred Reich and Coroner. 
As a result of their fast-playing style and lyrics (often covering death, politics and social issues), the band has been compared to that of their Thrash Metal contemporaries such as Testament, Vio-Lence, Forbidden, Sacred Reich and Nuclear Assault. 
The CD includes the complete remastered "Chemical Dependency" demo, plus 4 live tracks recorded in Toronto, Canada on January 30, 1989. 16-page booklet features extensive liner notes by Chris Forbes from Metal Core fanzine and many pictures from the early days.
