In existence since 1993 with just three albums to its name, the band has been slaving away in the Underground to little reward. And here we have a collection of demos, rare and previously unreleased tracks, early demos and live studio tracks, including cover versions of songs from Possessed, Kreator, Megadeth and Death, which unable to be excreted elsewhere. And it’s a fairly enjoyable slice of the Pessimist pie!
Pessimist line-up includes former member of Death, as well as Vital Remains, Monstrosity and Angelcorpse members!

25 years after its recording, the cult debut album of Pessimist available again!
On the 1997 debut, Pessimist unleashed their brutality onto the international Metal scene for the first time. The nascent band's effort displayed all the traits - the violent riffing, guttural vocal attack, and relentless pacing - that would become their calling card for the coming decades.
"Cult of the Initiated" charted on CMJ Top 40 Loud Rock Charts and received acclaim from around the world. The band continued to play shows in the Mid-Atlantic region, opening for Cryptopsy, Nile, Gorguts, Dying Fetus, Vader, Monstrosity, and festival appearances at Milwaukee Metalfest XII, New England Metal and Hardcore Fest, as well as play their first European tour with Fleshless in 1999. Pessimist became recognized for their unique brand of Brutal and Technical Black/Death Metal, with Old-school Thrash influences, an emphasis on quality songwriting, powerful live shows and a dark, evil sound.
Re-release features two bonus tracks and new artwork.
