The debut full-length studio album by Italian Progressive Rock band.
Secret Alliance starts as a solo project of the Italian guitarist Gianluca Galli, known as a founder and former member of Mantra, Time Machine and Silver Horses. To help bring his songs to life, Galli recruited some top international players, including drummer Ricardo Confessori (Angra, Shaman), fretless bass player Tony Frankin (Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Whitesnake, Kate Bush, etc.), Chick Corea guitarist Frank Gambale, and Italian guitar virtuoso Alex Masi. Vocals provided by Silver Horses singer, Andrea Ranfagni.
"Solar Warden" explores the modern and classic Heavy Rock sound with some Progressive influences and perfect voice by Andrea Ranfagni. The songs have all a common line, a classic Hard 'N' Heavy Rock sound, where the guitar riffs are the columns of the songwriting. Musically speaking, and perhaps self-evident, Galli has built his songs around his guitar work. His riffs are rich and thick, creating a wall of sound; his leads abundant and soaring. These things wrapped in arrangements of Heavy Rock with Prog and some Blues nuances. Vocalist has a clear and assertive presence without going screaming. Rather, his voice has some passion, even some of that Blues vibe.
Essentially, with Secret Alliance and "Solar Warden", talented guitarist Gianluca Galli has created a platform for his own performance. If you like guitar, Heavy and somewhat Proggy Rock, you will enjoy this album!
