As everyone knows, “Surf Nicaragua” showed the fans that Sacred Reich was a Thrash Metal band that wouldn’t stay in the past, that they would evolve as they could to expand limits and aren’t looking for success (even it was coming on those days). The all-out-Thrash Metal was becoming more and more sharpened, and finally in 1990, they released “The American Way”, their second full length, and a surprise for many…
The album shows a musical progression from the all-out Thrash Metal, which dominated their earlier material. It is the fact that the two years between “Surf Nicaragua” and “The American Way” seem to allow the band to mature in terms of melodies and arrangements. It’s far their best arranged release until that moment, polished in many parts, the guitars are really sounding great, the rhythmic work improved a lot, and the vocals are in their best moment. Even some Funk Rock influences can be heard (“31 Flavors”). For the third time, the band co-produced the album, leaving the hard work to the hands of Bill Metoyer in the production. And it’s their best sonority until them, refined and worked in a sober way, balancing the natural aggressiveness of Thrash Metal with a clean aesthetics. This fusion created a sonority that, even today, sounds great. And the presence of Tony Brewster on the trumpet, Will Donato on the saxophone, and Tim Moynahan on the trombone on “31 Flavors” took things to the extreme of Groove/Funk.
As they evolved, Sacred Reich not only became one of the more accessible Thrash Metal units, but also one of the most lyrically compelling. Dark, troubling, and often highly sociopolitical, Reich has a lot to say on this solid effort.
The album debuted at No. 153 on September 1, 1990 on the Billboard 200 charts, lasting for nine weeks.
The video for "The American Way" was used in the 1992 film "Encino Man".
“The American Way” is a divisor on Sared Reih’s career, and their tendency would grow. But as Thrash Metal was losing its commercial space to Grunge and Alternative Rock, things became harder. But this album is still amazing and fresh today. Hear, enjoy and buy it!

The first re-release of the first EP by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
EP follows the band's debut album, "Ignorance", released the previous year. Sacred Reich continued to progress with "Surf Nicaragua", which boasts better production than "Ignorance", as well as stronger and more confident singing from Phil Rind. The band used speed more judiciously this time, and its members continued to grow as musicians. Keeping its natural aggressiveness and identity, songs became more polished and increased the melodic aspects of it, as well as their musical weight becomes more evident. Once more, the quartet worked with Bill Metoyer in the production, but they worked as co-producers once more. The instrumental tunes are better heard, and the arrangements are clearer for all to hear.
The EP contains a cover version of the Black Sabbath song, "War Pigs", which fits in perfectly with Reich's generally grim outlook, and also appeared on the band's next EP, "Alive At The Dynamo In 1989", in live form. The song "Surf Nicaragua", a dark-humored number fearing the possibility of young Americans being forced to go to war in Nicaragua, contains a part from the song "Wipe Out" as well as the drum part from the "Hawaii 5-0" series theme song. "One Nation" is a call for Americans to reject racism and bigotry and work together to improve things. The blistering live tracks "Ignorance" and "Death Squad" (both heard as studio songs on "Ignorance") were only supposed to be on the CD version, but due to a pressing error, they appeared on all formats.
At this time, Sacred Reich was earning more and more fans, in an unusual growth for a band in such a way. But “Surf Nicaragua” was paving the way for something that would shock their fans…

For the first time ever with original artwork, the second re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
When Sacred Reich recorded "Ignorance" for the independent Metal Blade label in 1987, they hadn't yet achieved the type of excellence that characterized "The American Way". Nonetheless, Sacred Reich had a lot of going for, and showed some promise lyrically as well as musically.
The band's outlook was never rosy, and on "Ignorance" they speak out on war, racism, political oppression, and other evils. "Death Squad" questions the wisdom of the U.S. government's supporting right-wing dictatorships in the name of anti-communism, while "Sacred Reich" examines Adolf Hitler's reign of terror.
Invigorating as well as disturbing, this bombastic album indicated that Reich could amount to something special if given a chance to develop. And it turned out that, in fact, the best was yet to come.
The album was co-produced by the band and Bill Metoyer, who had previously engineered most of Slayer's early work.
In August 2014, Revolver Magazine placed "Ignorance" on its "14 Thrash Albums You Need to Own" list.
Remastered by Patrick W. Engel, special 30th Anniversary re-edition includes five bonus tracks + 18-page poster-booklet.

The first re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Formed in 1985, Sacred Reich were an integral part of the 80s and 90s Thrash Metal movement, dropping four albums before splitting in 2000. They would go on to reform in 2006 but strictly as a live act, dropping the "Live At Wacken" DVD in 2012, but it was only in 2018 that they started to work on new material.
"Heal" is the band's final full-length studio album to feature guitarist Jason Rainey, and was their last one for 23 years, until the release of "Awakening" in August 2019.
Meticulously remastered by Rob Colwell at Bombworks Sound, ensuring the album sounds better than ever. Re-release includes bonus track “Beef Bologna” (Fear cover), originally released as a bonus track on the 1996 Japanese release.The artwork has been beautifully recreated by Scott Waters at NoLifeTilMetal Graphics, bringing new life to this iconic release. 12-page booklet offering fans an immersive experience with detailed liner notes and artwork.
