The first compilation album by cult Dutch Avant-garde/Grindcore/Doom/Death Metal band.
The band from the Rotterdam area was formed in 1989 as a Death/Grindcore band named Bacterial Disease, and changed their name to Phlebotomized in 1990. They released two demo tapes, an EP, mini-album and two full-length albums during 1991–1997. Phlebotomized were known for their dominant use of keyboards (not like The Gathering nor like Nocturnus, maybe somewhere in between) and their rather experimental and complex songs (still strongly embedded in Death Metal). During their last full-length, Phlebotomized evolved into Avant-garde Death/Doom Metal.
This release contains their second demo "Devoted To God" (1991) and their mini-album "Preach Eternal Gospels" (1993). Both were recorded at Studio Het Pand (Lair Of Golgotha, Threnody) and remastered by Phlebotomized guitar player Tom Palms. As a bonus, the release contains three live tracks. Covert artwork done by Kristian Wahlin (Emperor, Dissection, Edge Of Sanity).
Tracks 1-5 is a remastered version of the "Devoted To God" demo tape;
Tracks 6-8 is a remastered version of the "Preach Eternal Gospels" MCD;
Track 9 recorded live at Nighttown Rotterdam, October 23, 1992;
Track 10 recorded live at Melkweg Amsterdam, August 7, 1993;
Track 11 recorded live at Overkill Fest Hoorn Z, September 17, 1994.
