The first re-release on Picture Disc of the twelfth full-length studio album, also known as a “Death Or Glory”, by legendary British Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
For fans who had been disappointed for earlier Motörhead releases, “Bastards” came as welcome return to the band’s roots in the loudest and hardest-driving kind of Rock’n’Roll.
Into the early 90’s, Motörhead’s influence had spread. Terms like “Speed Metal” were being used to describe not only Motörhead’s own style but also that of other bands playing in a similar vein. Thus “Bastards”, whose tracks are featured here, seemed too many to present to a return to hard-core form. By the time Motörhead began recording “Bastards”, the band was essentially a quartet, consisting in this case of Lemmy, Mikkey Dee, Phil Campbell and Michael Burston, who was known as Würzel.
“Bastards” mixed band’s characteristically angry and intense Hard Rock – songs like “On Your Feet”, “Burner”, “Born To Rise Hell” and “Liar” – with powerful, more acoustic ballads like “Lost In The Ozone” and the thoughtful and painful child-abuse number “Don’t Let Daddy Kiss Me”. Many fans have ranked “Bastards” among the best of Motörhead’s many albums.
In the many years since “Bastards” was released, Lemmy has kept up his relentless approach to touring and recording with various iterations of Motörhead. The tracks offered here provide the fine example of the band’s staying power and commitment to its founding ethos!

"1916" was Motörhead's first studio album in nearly four years, and their first release on WTG Records after their legal battle with GWR Records was resolved.
This is a little different from other Motörhead releases. For one thing, Motörhead has four members on this recording rather than the usual three. For another, this CD is loaded with emotion of all kinds, not just the hellbent-for-leather attitude of previous Motörhead releases. It was an angle the band would continue to use on each album even through today.
Everything about this CD screams vintage Motörhead, and that means vintage Lemmy: raging music, killer lyrics and attitude in spades. The extra guitar adds a Judas Priest type resonance to the classic Motörhead sound, which worked perfectly with Lemmy, Metal's venerable frontman, at the mic.
"1916" is loaded with power-packed tunes that would make any Motörheader stand up and shout. A few of the surprises herein include some unprecedented, backwards effects and a song dedicated to the legendary Punk band, The Ramones.
The CD's last track is the title song, "1916." Not only does this track show Lemmy's love of history, it also introduced us to a whole another side of Lemmy: a sensitive side. "1916" is the story of a 16-year-old lad who lies about this age in order to enter WWI and the entire ugly mess that is war and its effect on everybody, from the viewpoint of this young soldier. Lemmy Kilmister is simply the best musical storyteller in Rock'n'Roll today, and "1916" is still more proof that Motörhead is one of the greatest bands ever!
"1916" reached number 24 in the UK charts and number 142 in the US. It was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance at the 1992 Grammys, but lost to Metallica's "Metallica", which was released approximately six months later.

The twenty-second full-length studio album by legendary British Heavy Metal band.
In the history of music, there are few true mavericks on the level of the legendary Lemmy, a man who seems to do his own thing without any concern for what anyone else thinks about it. This level of confidence has made Motörhead a timeless institution in the world of Rock & Roll, and on "Aftershock" it's clear they're not even close to running out of gas.
While the band's elemental sound doesn't show much in the way of innovation, the spirit of true Rock is so strong within it that it doesn't really matter. These guys aren't influenced so much as they are influences, and as the elder statesmen of being badass, Motörhead deliver yet another show of strength, putting on a master class in the sort of down-and-dirty grit and grime that most other bands can only summon ironically. Although "Aftershock" probably won't go down in history as one of the band's great albums, it serves as a reminder of Motörhead's, and by that virtue Lemmy's, status as true originals who play by a set of rules that only they seem privy to.
Fans of the band, or really anyone who has ever dared to cut the sleeves off of a jean jacket or carved a skull into a desk with a knife, would do well to pay tribute by checking this one out, lest they incur the wrath of Kilmister!!

Second European remastered re-release of the seventh full-length studio album by the legendary British Heavy/Speed Metal/Hard Rock band.
To this day, "Another Perfect Day" remains one of the most unique (albeit misunderstood) albums in the entire Motörhead catalog. The band's first effort sans legendary axe-meister "Fast" Eddie Clarke (following six albums, of which at least three are still considered timeless classics), "Another Perfect Day" would be the band's only outing with onetime Thin Lizzy axeman Brian "Robbo" Robertson. The album captures Motörhead mainstays Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister and Philthy "Animal" Taylor struggling to adapt their raw power and unparalleled distortion to Robertson's more mainstream Hard Rock instincts and melodic tendencies. Thanks in part to Tony Platt's excellent production, "Another Perfect Day" ranks among the band's best-sounding records ever. On the one hand, the glorious arpeggiated melodies that characterize singles "Dancing on Your Grave" and "Shine" were a total shock to the system by classic Motörhead standards, but their popularity and ultimate longevity as band highlights is a testament to their excellence. Furthermore, other drawn-out Blues exercises like "One Track Mind" and "I Got Mine" simply took the intensity and power of previously delivered sub-three-minute blasts and diluted it into four to five minutes, which had some fans impatiently glancing at their clocks. The title track barely escapes this predicament, and tighter.
By extension, "Another Perfect Day" is doomed to be considered a curiosity to this very day.
The album reached number 20 in the UK charts.

"We are Motörhead, and we're gonna kick your ass", bellows the inimitable Lemmy Kilmister at the beginning of this relentless live performance, and he means it.
"Everything Louder Than Everyone Else" was recorded at a show in Hamburg, Germany on 21 May 1998. Mixed unbelievably loud and in-your-face, it captures Motörhead's overwhelming live power in all its toothy glory and reflects a veteran band working at the peak of its skill. While much nostalgic mythologizing is made of Motörhead's classic early line-up (featuring Lemmy, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, and "Philthy Animal" Taylor), the fact is, the band has soldiered on since that incarnation and has gotten better along the way.
This double-disc set focuses mainly on Motörhead's '90s output, which is astoundingly strong (much better than the band's spotty work in the '80s). One glance at the track listing proves that the band is far from resting on past glories; only a handful of songs from the band's early years - like "Capricorn" and "Metropolis" - appear. Instead, blistering versions of latter-day classics like "Burner", "I'm So Bad, Baby I Don't Care" and "Love for Sale" make up the bulk of this devastating set. Fans who were disappointed by Motörhead's live album, the flat-sounding "Nö Sleep At All" (which was virtually disowned by the band), will be overjoyed with the uncompromised intensity of this album's ferocious production. Additionally, Motörhead's lineup, featuring the fast hands and feet of drummer Mikkey Dee and the pile-driving guitars of Phil Campbell, has been intact for longer than any other version of Motörhead, and the band's cohesion and enthusiasm is more than evident here. What's perhaps most amazing of all is that Lemmy's voice hasn't lost any of its jet-engine roar after many years' worth of use and abuse.

The seventeenth full-length studio album by legendary British Heavy Metal band.
Unlike many of the band's contemporaries, Motörhead manages to still release lean and mean Rock records, while keeping the songs simple rather than adding some electronic accompaniment or trying to be current or hip. Many of the other bands from Motörhead's era might still be worth checking out live (Iron Maiden, AC/DC), but each of those bands' new albums is almost always more forgettable than the last. In "Hammered"'s "Walk A Crooked Mile", Motörhead has written at least one more classic to add to the band's large number of hits, which could easily fill a double CD. Epic and with a cool bass line, courtesy of Motörhead main dude Lemmy Kilmister, "Walk A Crooked Mile" has a bit of a Punk edge to it, like a lot of Motörhead's tunes, but it also closes with a stylish 80s-style Metal guitar solo. The rest of the material does not veer from the usual Motörhead formula, but it's all played dirty and in the gutter, and will undoubtedly appeal to Motörhead's dedicated fan base!
This is yet again another solid release from Motörhead. While some songs might be below subpar, like "Voices from the War" and "Mine All Mine", others such as "Brave New World" and "Walk A Crooked Mile" more than outshine them. If you like these guys, you won't be disappointed with this album! And if you haven't heard them, this wouldn't be that bad of a place to start!!

“Hellraiser: Best of the Epic Years” is spanning the Motörhead's two years at Epic Records. The compilation includes songs from the “1916” and “March or Die” albums, as well as two non-album tracks that had been on the Single "The One To Sing the Blues".
“Hellraiser” is a song written by Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde and Lemmy Kilmister. The song was written for Osbourne's “No More Tears” album, in 1991, being one of the most well known Ozzy Osbourne songs. Ozzy never released it as a Single, but Motörhead did, in 1992 as the A-side of the Single and as the 6th track on their “March or Die” album. Also, Motörhead's recording of the song was used in the movie "Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth". A video for "Hellraiser" was made, featuring Lemmy playing poker against Pinhead (Doug Bradley) from the "Hellraiser" movies. This version also has some minor lyrical alterations.

Clarke produced this album himself, whereas industry veterans Jimmy Miller and Vic Maile had respectively manned Motörhead's past four albums. Clarke's production is a bit sterile in comparison, with his guitar in the forefront, sounding slightly more polished than usual. These are minor points, however. "Iron Fist" is a fine Motörhead album, and there's not much at all to complain about here. As usual, the performance is ferocious and there are several standout songs ("Iron Fist", "Heart of Stone", "Speedfreak", "(Don't Let 'Em) Grind You Down") amid a strong selection overall. If "Iron Fist" falls a little short of its four-star predecessors, it's still in a class with those albums, at least relative to what would follow in the years to come. Sadly, it was downhill from here for Motörhead, slowly but steadily. Not until the '90s would they reach heights near this again.
The album peaked at No. 6 on the UK album charts. It was preceded by the release of the title track "Iron Fist" as a Single on 3 April, which peaked in the UK singles chart at #29.

The eleventh full-length studio album by the legendary British Heavy/Speed Metal/Hard Rock band.
Encouraged by a new distribution deal through Epic Records and his recent collaboration with old friend Ozzy Osbourne on his wildly successful "No More Tears" album, Lemmy set out to pursue commercial success like never before. Sure, Motörhead had flirted with accessibility before, but with 1992's "March Ör Die", the English legends shed much of their unbridled power and skull-crushing distortion in order to break down the radio barrier once and for all.
Needless to say, it didn't work in attracting new fans, and lukewarm material like "Hellraiser" (in a different version than on "No More Tears" - the song was originally co-written by Lemmy, Zakk Wylde and Ozzy Osbourne for Ozzy Osbourne's "No More Tears" album), the piano- and acoustic guitar-laced "I Ain't No Nice Guy" (a duet with the Ozzman featuring Slash), and a straightforward cover of Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever" ("Catch Scratch Fever" in original) had longtime fans gritting their teeth in frustration. Elsewhere, tracks like "Stand", "Bad Religion", and "Too Good to Be True" found Lemmy making a serious effort to transform his trademark croak into actual singing, and only a few numbers ("Name in Vain" or the title track) bear any vague resemblance to the Motörhead of old.
Three drummers participated in the making of this album: Phil Taylor, who was fired after "I Ain't No Nice Guy" was recorded (because he did not learn his drum tracks), Tommy Aldridge who recorded most of the material on this album on a sessional basis only, and Mikkey Dee, who recorded the "Hellraiser" single (the song "Hellraiser" was used as main theme in soundtrack to movie "Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth"; also video clip for this song was made with characters from movie). Another drummer, Garry Bowler (a.k.a. Magpie) worked on the drum track for the demo of "Stand" during a 1991 session in London with Würzel and Phil Campbell.
The album was produced by Peter Solley with the exception of "Hellraiser" which was produced by Billy Sherwood.
Motörhead have never just been the best Rock'n'Roll band in the world. They've never just been the loudest. Or the hardest. Or the toughest. Or the bad-ass-est. No... Motörhead are also a lifestyle! Motörhead are a mindset, a belief, a way to live your life, a way to both survive and beat a society that sometimes seems intent on grinding you down!!

First remastered re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary British Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
Before forming Motörhead, Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister could boast of having been a member of Space Rock cowboys Hawkwind and a career in horsebreaking. He was also, to top it all, the son of a vicar. Having been expelled from his former employers after a disagreement with border guards over the contents of his luggage (it was drugs), he took the name for his new band from the final song he'd written for Hawkwind.
Together with Larry Wallis of the Pink Fairies and drummer Philthy "Animal" Taylor, Motörhead recorded a debut album that was rejected by United Artists Records, though it was eventually released as "On Parole" in 1979. As a result, the band expanded with the addition of "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar. Wallis then left after just one rehearsal, leaving the classic Motörhead line-up in shape for their debut proper. Rock & Roll had never heard the like. Though only a minor chart success, Motörhead patented the band's style: Lemmy's rasping vocal over a speeding juggernaut of guitar, bass, and drums. Motörhead returned mainstream Rock to its most brutal base elements - no wonder the Punks liked them.
Certainly "Motörhead" and "Iron Horse" are considered Motörhead classics, while songs such as "Vibrator" and "Lost Johnny" are but two examples of how few have lived the sex, drugs, and Rock 'n' Roll lifestyle more than Lemmy. Both Punk and Metal camps embraced the band's ballsy, no holds barred brand of Rock 'n' Roll, but Lemmy would have none of that, as then and now, he catered to no camp and simply made Motörhead music, which nobody else makes.

The first re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary British Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
Recorded by the original Motörhead line-up of Lemmy, Lucas Fox, and Larry Wallis, "On Parole" is famous as the debut album. In fact this album was recorded in September 1975, so technically this is the band's first album. It was supposed to be released in 1976, but the label refused to release it and it got shelved. The album was eventually released in 1979 to cash in on the band's success. Motörhead themselves have said that their 1977 self-titled album is their first official release. They have denied that "On Parole" was their debut album. Due to the record company's initial refusal to release this album, when a reconfigured Motörhead (featuring Eddie Clarke on guitar) were given studio time by Chiswick Records in 1977, they chose to re-record the album again in its entirety (only "Fools" and "Leaving Here" weren't re-recorded) leading to their self-titled release.
By 1978, Motörhead were arguably the biggest Heavy Metal band in the world. And "On Parole" didn't sound so distasteful any more. Countless reissues followed, and here is another one, released in 1997 as part of EMI's centenary celebrations.
No matter how well you think you know Motörhead, still it's nothing like you're expecting. The Motörhead that people know and love threatened to take on the world. The Motörhead here would simply have taken it over!

The fourth re-release of the ninth full-length studio album by legendary British Heavy/Speed Metal band.
Though they are usually pegged as Heavy Metal, Motörhead are actually a Rock & Roll band in the purest sense. And this aptly titled release reminds you that despite their outrageous speed and ear-shattering distortion, Motörhead tunes have much more in common with Chuck Berry than Black Sabbath.
Rock 'n' Roll renewed commercial hope for Motörhead in the States, with Lemmy and company moving to Los Angeles. The fans in the States appeared willing to see this band live and buy their albums, whereas Britain is criticized as having lost interest in the band.
With the returned original drummer Philthy Taylor, the guys press the pedal to the Metal right at the beginning. The title song easily thrashes your brains out. Turned into a slavering beast, the following tracks sound even better. And they have quite something in them. The snottily thrashed out "Eat The Rich", which also was released as a Maxi-Single, more than convinces through an ultra fat lead guitar and the super great lyrics of Lemmy. Also, the rest of the songs provide you with a mega fat grin.
It was the first appearance of the band's four-piece line-up of: Lemmy, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, Würzel and Phil Campbell, which lasted from 1987 until 1992.
There is a hidden track (01:02) before "The Wolf" where Monty Python legend Michael Palin provides some narration. Also, the re-edition includes two bonus tracks.

The thirteenth full-length studio album by legendary British Heavy Metal band.
Metal bands are supposed to lose their energy and power as they age, but Motörhead stubbornly refused to obey that rule, maintaining their string of tough, enjoyable albums into the mid-90s.
It is the second and last album to feature the four-man line-up of Lemmy, Phil "Wizzö" Campbell, Würzel, and Mikkey Dee, as Würzel left the band at the end of recording this album.
"Sacrifice" doesn't offer anything new, nor does it display a newfound subtlety. It's just straight-ahead, breakneck fast, ear-shatteringly loud Motörhead, with buzzing guitars, near-martial rhythms, and surprisingly catchy hooks.
The title track was used in the movie “Tromeo and Juliet”, a film in which Lemmy appears.
It's a thoroughly engaging and entertaining record from one of the most consistent Metal bands in history.

The first Motörhead's album to chart in the US. As with all their albums since 2004's "Inferno", it was produced, mixed and engineered by Cameron Webb in California. Though the bands spend most of the year somewhere on tour together anyway, Philip and Mikkey have mostly recorded in the US when doing Motörhead albums, as Lemmy doesn't really travel unless touring since relocating. His age and health eventually made this the norm for the band, and so this album was done the same as the last few, with a few weeks over a few months practicing, then into the studio for recordings.
"Motorizer" never pretends to be groundbreaking, but it is an engagingly predictable album. "Motörizer" avoids the bland Hard Rock that larded up some of the band's recent records. Instead, its 11 tracks efficiently clock in at under 39 minutes. Lemmy turned 63 that year, but he still sounded half his age.
The album reached number 32 on the UK Albums Chart, making it the band's highest-charting album in the UK since "1916" in 1991. The album debuted on Billboard chart at No. 82. It peaked at No. 2 on the UK Rock & Metal chart, and at No. 5 on the German Offizielle Top 100 & US Independent charts. As with the band's last few albums, it did not make a massive impact on the public, but saw dedicated sales in markets where they had a strong following.

The first re-release on vinyl of the fourth live album, “Blitzkrieg On Birmingham '77”, by legendary British Heavy/Speed Metal/Hard Rock band.
This album showcases Motörhead’s incendiary gig at the Birmingham Town Hall, on 3 June 1977, during the Beyond the Threshold of Pain Tour.
1977 was a pivotal year for Motörhead, seeing as it saw the release of their debut, self-titled album and also the hiring of Fast Eddie Clarke, forging what is invariably seen as the classic line up of this seminal band. The year may be closely associated with the height of Punk Rock, but the ultra Heavy Metal styling of Lemmy & Co always crossed the divide and appealed to Punk and Metal fans alike.
"Birmingham Town Hall 1977" is the first recording from Eddie Clarke's personal archive that got released. And it was the first gig on the tour with Hawkwind and also the first gig that was made after the initial recordings of the "Motörhead" album.
The 11 tracks here straddle the tracks written for that debut LP ("Iron Horse/Born To Lose", "Vibrator" and "White Line Fever") and older material such as "Motörhead", originally penned by Lemmy's previous employers Hawkwind, their cover of Eddie Holland's Motown classic "Leaving Here" and "On Parole", first recorded with Clarke's predecessor Larry Wallis in 1976 then shelved.
This live recording has cropped up in so many and varied releases on CD that it is almost impossible to keep track on. For the first time, it was officially released in 1989 on CD & LP as “Blitzkrieg On Birmingham '77”. Every time it gets re-issued, it also gets a new title.
The sound of one of the finest bands ever, just beginning to hit their stride!

The second live album by legendary British Heavy/Speed Metal/Hard Rock band.
The album was recorded live at the Roundhouse, London, on 18 February 1978 at a benefit concert for William Wordsworth manuscripts and, due to contractual reasons, Motörhead were billed under the name Iron Fist & The Hordes Of Helldue, part of which would later be used for the name of a studio album, "Iron Fist".
Chiswick Records boss, Ted Carroll, organized the Rolling Stones mobile truck to record the event, and the rights to the recording becomes to Chiswick Records (sub-label and forerunner of Ace Records). They officially released it as a live album in February 1983 on Big Beat Records, a sub-label of Ace Records.
The album features nine songs from their mid-to-late 1970s period and includes tracks such as "The Watcher", "Iron Horse/Born to Lose", and "Leaving Here".
Lemmy is heard at the end of the concert to say "read plenty of Wordsworth" and as a result the album got its title because of this.
The album reached number 71 in the charts. Since then, it has been re-released with other titles and/or other sleeves, among others as "The Watcher" in Canada, "City Kids", "Live, Loud And Lewd", "Iron Fist And The Hordes From Hell" and "England 1978". In 2017, this concert was re-released on a 3LP box set of Motörhead's debut album, specially for Record Store Day.
