What does "Battle Hymns" mean to us this day? Well, it shows a band accused of excess at their leanest, playing with such heart and such sonic thunder, and with an urgency that would be severely lessened for most of their career. Manowar's status as the laughing stock of Metal is a pretty good example of just how Metal is misunderstood by the masses, and indeed, by the fans themselves... Manowar deserve celebration far more so then mockery, definitely. No big deal though; if music critics would rather listen to pop offered by Motown Records then this then clearly they've got some sort of serious mental illness and there's nothing we can do. Needless to say you seriously need this album if you like good music!
This guys unwittingly created a masterpiece! Enjoy it for all its intentions and what it truly delivers!!

On their anthemic mission statement, "Kings Of Metal", Manowar once again proclaim their Metal superiority thusly: "Other bands play, Manowar kills"!
The twin sentiments of the band's Metal mastery and the majesty of medieval heroism in battle are doggedly repeated on their sixth full-length release. There aren't many surprises on the disc, with the possible exception of bassist Joey DeMaio's blinding 64th-note bass playing on a reworking of Russian classicist Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" entitled "Sting of the Bumblebee". Considered by some fans to be a classic of its own, the 1988 release might have a many ballads for Power Metal enthusiasts, brushing up on the genre's history. Besides their refreshingly totalistic loyalty to form, Manowar's most admirable trait is their prodigious Metal musicianship, but with so much slow, balladic material, "Kings of Metal" makes little use of the band's fundamental musical strengths.
The album was the last to feature guitarist and founding member Ross "The Boss" Friedman, who later went on to rejoin punk band The Dictators. Drummer Scott Columbus left the band after this album as well, but rejoined for 1996's “Louder Than Hell” and remained with the band until 2008.
“Kings Of Metal” is the most popular album in the history of the Manowar, which entered the list of "200 Best Rock Albums of All Time".
This CD version includes bonus track, not included in LP as well as not included in CD versions of the many countries.

They will keep playing loud and Epic Heavy Metal, till the day of their death. And it's great to know that. Manowar is stuck in the sound of the "Kings Of Metal" album, with heavy anthems against false Metal and Epic Power ballads, wich always remember to that beautiful song, "Heart of Steel". With a 28-minute opening track, slightly expanded lyrical themes and some of the best rhythmic onslaughts recorded by Manowar, "The Triumph Of Steel" is perhaps the band's finest '90s offering! While never abandoning their myopic swords-and-sorcery themed Power Metal, Manowar had evolved musically during their first decade together and the music of this 1992 release benefits from what must have been countless hours woodshedding extreme musical figures. Tighter than a tumble-dried loin cloth, the standout track "Ride the Dragon" is an exceptionally fast number that signifies a commitment toward high-speed compositions on the part of bassist/songwriter Joey DeMaio. There is absolutely no subtlety or irony to Manowar or their cartoon Metal and many listeners will have trouble taking either seriously. Their credo, "Death to false Metal" and similar messages are constantly repeated, and unlike other comic book outfits like Gwar, Manowar aren't hamming it up for laughs. They're dead serious. While it's understandable that audiences and critics refuse to even acknowledge Manowar's heavy-handed rallying cries (in America that is, while the band is often given favorable notices in the European metal press), there is also something admirable about musicians so committed to what they do, even if it is silly. Loyalty is a rare human attribute and on "The Triumph Of Steel" Manowar demonstrate plenty of it to their fans, their craft, and themselves. When considering this veteran outfit, listeners and critics fond of heavy music might pause their snickering for a moment and give Manowar a little credit. For decades the band worked for an ideal, not fashion or money. In so doing, they helped define the bizarre edge of Metal's amorphous but very real culture!

Founded by former Manowar drummer Kenny “Rhino” Earl in 2008, Angels Of Babylon recruited strong acclaim with 2010 debut album "Kingdom Of Evil", which featured Megadeth’s Dave Ellefson on bass. Line-up changes followed, but now the potent force of Earl, vocalist Diego Valdez (Skiltron, Helker), guitarist Ethan Brosh, and bassist Steve Handel (Seventh Calling, Protest), return with the band’s new album and a powerful ear-catching onslaught it is.
