IVAN

The third full-length studio album by Australian Funeral Doom/Death Metal band.
This is the first band's album officially released on a CD.
Two songs that are 48 minutes in length, longer than 20 minutes each, are filled to the brim with heavy guitar riffs and the sounds of a dreary piano, framed by a solo violin, which makes Ivan's music so special and unique. This is a sound of a funeral orchestra playing on the edge of a dug grave, where the withered autumn leaves fall.
However sad and depressing songs are, the melodies are intricate and beautiful, mimicking a classical approach to composition. They have depth, and within this depth are many melodies playing at once, but each one compliments the other. There’s piano and violin, which aren’t limited to specific sections. They play throughout the entire album with the guitars, bass, and drums. This is what really layers the music so much and makes it sound classical. Just because it's classical sounding, doesn’t mean that it’s Neoclassical. It’s not fast or shredding at all. It’s mid-paced, Doom-laden Death Metal, and it gets the job done. The overall atmosphere of the music is very depressing, but serene at the same time. 
A must-have for fans of classical Atmospheric Doom/Death Metal!
