First European re-release of the third full-length studio album by legedary American Punk Rock band.
Green Day couldn't have had a blockbuster without Nirvana, but "Dookie" wound up being nearly as revolutionary as "Nevermind", sending a wave of imitators up the charts and setting the tone for the mainstream Rock of the mid-'90s. Like "Nevermind", this was accidental success, the sound of a promising Underground band suddenly hitting its stride just as they got their first professional, big-budget, big-label production. Really, that's where the similarities end, since if Nirvana were indebted to the weirdness of Indie Rock, Green Day were straight-ahead Punk revivalists through and through. They were products of the Underground Pop scene kept alive by such protagonists as All, yet what they really loved was the original Punk, particularly such British Punkers as the Jam And Buzzcocks. On their first couple records, they showed promise, but with "Dookie", they delivered a record that found Billie Joe Armstrong bursting into full flower as a songwriter, spitting out melodic ravers that could have comfortably sat alongside Singles Going Steady, but infused with an ironic self-loathing popularized by Nirvana, whose clean sound on "Nevermind" is also emulated here. Where Nirvana had weight, Green Day are deliberately adolescent here, treating nearly everything as joke and having as much fun as snotty Punkers should. They demonstrate a bit of depth with "When I Come Around", but that just varies the pace slightly, since the key to this is their flippant, infectious attitude - something they maintain throughout the record, making "Dookie" a stellar piece of modern punk that many tried to emulate but nobody bettered.
The band's first collaboration with producer Rob Cavallo and its major record label debut, "Dookie" became a worldwide commercial success, peaking at number two on the US Billboard 200 and charting in seven countries. Along with The Offspring's Smash, "Dookie" has been credited for helping bring Punk Rock back into mainstream music culture.
"Dookie" was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America for the shipments of 10 million copies. 
The album has garnered considerable acclaim, from its release to present day, winning a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 1995 and being ranked No. 193 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In April 2014, Rolling Stone placed the album at No. 1 on its "1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative's Greatest Year" list. A month later, Loudwire placed Dookie at No. 1 on its "10 Best Hard Rock Albums of 1994" list.Guitar World ranked Dookie at number thirteen in their list "Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994".
As of 2014, "Dookie" is the band's best-selling album with more than 20 million copies sold worldwide.

The seventh full-length studio album by legendary American Alternative Rock/Pop Punk band.
Green Day first achieved popularity in the 1990s with a string of successful albums. Following disappointing sales of their sixth album, "Warning" (2000), the band took a break before recording their next album, titled "Cigarettes And Valentines". The recording process was cut short when the album's master tapes were stolen. Rather than re-record that material, the group decided to start over.
A concept album dubbed a "Punk Rock Opera" by the band members, "American Idiot" follows the story of Jesus of Suburbia, a lower-middle-class American adolescent anti-hero. Through its plot, the album expresses the disillusionment and dissent of a generation that came of age in a period shaped by many tumultuous events like the Iraq War. The album was inspired by several musicals and the work of The Who.
American Idiot marked a career comeback for Green Day following a period of decreased success. It charted in 27 countries, peaking at number one in 19, and eventually sold 16 million copies worldwide. 
Its success inspired a Broadway musical and a planned feature film adaptation. It has been praised in the years following its release, appearing on several year-end and decade-end lists.
In 2005, "American Idiot" won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album and was nominated in six other categories including Album of the Year. The album helped Green Day win seven of the eight awards it was nominated for at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards; the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" video won six of those awards. A year later, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. In 2009, Kerrang! named "American Idiot" the best album of the decade, NME ranked it number 60 in a similar list, and Rolling Stone ranked it 22nd. Rolling Stone also listed "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and "American Idiot" among the 100 best songs of the 2000s, at number 65 and 47 respectively. In 2005, the album was ranked number 420 in Rock Hard Magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time. In 2012, the album was ranked number 225 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Green Day's final album to be released by Reprise Records, it marks a slight change in style from the band's usual sound, incorporating Garage Rock elements similar to that of their tenth studio album, "¡Dos!".
The album was preceded by four Singles: "Father of All...", "Fire, Ready, Aim", "Oh Yeah!" and "Meet Me on the Roof".
"Father Of All Motherfuckers" debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 with 48,000 album-equivalent units, including 42,000 pure album sales. It is Green Day's 11th US top-10 album.  It also debuted atop the UK Albums Chart and Australian ARIA Albums Chart, among others.

"Nimrod." is noted for its musical diversity and experimentation, containing elements of Folk, Hardcore, Surf Rock, and Ska. Lyrical themes discussed include maturity, personal reflection, and fatherhood.
"Nimrod." debuted at number ten on the Billboard 200, selling 81,000 copies in its first week of release, and remained on the chart for 70 weeks. On March 16, 2000, "Nimrod." was certified double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of over two million copies. In Canada, the album peaked at number four, remaining on the chart for four weeks. On July 6, 1998, the record was certified double Platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association for shipments of over 200,000 copies. In Australia, the album debuted at number twelve and later peaked at number three on the country's chart. The record was later certified triple Platinum in Australia.

The fourth live album by legendary American Alternative/Punk Rock band.
Between 1994 and 2001, Green Day would visit the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios in London four times and record live sessions for Radio 1’s “Evening Show” and its popular DJ Steve Lamacq. This compilation documents those sessions, and includes many of the band’s hits including “When I Come Around”, “Basket Case”, “Brain Stew/Jaded” and “Minority”.
The first dates from June 1994, just after the band released "Dookie". Here, the trio sound loud, precise, and slightly polite; it's as if they're still getting used to operating on a larger stage. By the time they held their second BBC Session in November 1996, nearly a year after the release of "Insomniac", they sound rougher and wilder, particularly on the "Brain Stew/Jaded" performance. That attitude carries over to the third session, given in February 1998, a few months after "Nimrod" hit the stores. The 1998 set finds Green Day honing their precision attack, then the last session, given in August 2001, nearly a year after the release of "Warning", captures a band in the thick of rethinking their approach; they retain their power but sharpen their songwriting chops.
Taken together, the "BBC Sessions" emphasizes both the connective threads and creative evolution of Green Day during the first act of their career, which makes it a worthy historical document in addition to a first-rate live album.
