Originally released in 1996 on MC and considered by most as a demo-album, it's a professionally recorded full-length album and highly anticipated cult release requested by fans of elite Slavonic Black Metal, that was reissued on CD for a several times.
"Lunar Poetry" is steeped in moonlight mystery and timeless Slavonic ritualism. This is Black Metal with highly expressive Folk sorrowful melodies. It delivers soaring guitars and apocalyptic keyboard passages. It offers a wide variance in vocals, from screams to whispers and narration, and it breathes the air of originality that Nokturnal Mortum is famous for.
Similar to Limbonic Art in their reliance on rumbling rhythm patterns and keyboard usage, Nokturnal Mortum did a fine job of capturing both - the bleakness of Black Metal, as well as a more ethnic representation of their native Ukrainian Folk music. The music is extremely fluid and tends to lean towards a more majestic and beautiful sound than harshness of Black Metal.
The band also covers Celtic Frost's "Sorrows of the Moon" with a nice degree of skill.
"Lunar Poetry" was way ahead of its time, and even today, it sounds fresh and inspiring. In fact, the result is so startling - it is hard to imagine that this is only Nokturnal Mortum's very first journey into the dark, the ancient and the extreme... Regardless of occasional inexperience that is typical for a demo, "Lunar Poetry" is a beautiful, stirring and impressive album that utterly requires your attention if you have any liking for a keyboard laden Black Metal assault! Without a doubt, "Lunar Poetry" is one of the best Black Metal albums ever!!

The eighteenth full-length studio album by legendary German Heavy/Speed/Power Metal band.
Once again, Peavy and Victor, joined this time by Andres Hilgers on the drums after the slightly achromous departure of Mike Terrana, have come up with another classic set of songs.
These guys just don’t put out bad albums. The last effort, “Speak Of The Dead”, saw them experiment slightly; one half of the album was accompanied by a full orchestra and the other half with a more complex and Progressive approach than usual, more “Welcome to the Other Side” than “Unity” or “Soundchaser”. The real standout feature of this album are choruses. Rage have always been known for catchy melodies and hooks, but this album takes this to another level, some might say too much so, but that’s one of the strongest aspects of "Carved In Stone" - the contrast between the very heavy and the much catchy.
In total, "Carved In Stone" is another brilliant album by the German veterans. If you like classic Metal with a Power/Thrash Metal feel to it, then give it a try - you won’t be disappointed in any way!

Fifth full-length album by the cult Greek Gothic/Black Metal band.
Like previous releases, "A Dead Poem" and "Triarchy Of The Lost Lovers", the band refined their direction to a slower style with more emphasis on atmosphere and melodicism than brutality. Despite mixed critical consensus of the album, it was supported during the band's first-ever tour in the United States.
Resuming the path started on "Triarchy Of The Lost Lovers", Rotting Christ show just a mild sort of improvement and honing of a sound with "Sleep Of The Angels". Rotting Christ focuses again on symphonics and a modern romantic Doom sound reminiscient of Alastis, current Samael and even a hint of Rammstein. There are moments where vocalist/guitarist Sakis sounds similar to Moonspell's vocalist in "Wolfheart" era. The simple riffing is very effective within the structure of the style, a lot of large sounding chords and subtle picking. Moreover, this approach mixed with the subtle but alluring lush keyboards is very successful in translating a mood and feel.
"Sleep Of The Angels" on a whole is a very nicely sequenced and unified package. A good step up from "A Dead Poem" and recommended to fans of Atmospheric Metal!!

Tenth full-length album by the legendary Greek Extreme/Black Metal band.
Seemingly inspired by the blockbuster special effects film 300, which chronicled their ancient countrymen's heroic efforts to repel the much larger invading armies of Persia, Greek's greatest heavy metal band, Rotting Christ, delivered an evocative concept piece about a soldier's experience in battle for their tenth album "Aealo". In fact, this title is an archaic Greek word meaning catastrophe or destruction, and along with the frequent warrior chants and fighting sound effects riddling these ten tracks, it serves as a perfect representation of the lyrical content herein.
Musically, "Aealo" peels away the orchestral backdrops and Gothic shrouds so prevalent on recent Rotting Christ albums to reveal the band's fundamental, Melodic Black Metal essentials shorn to their core - to the point that some fans may find the overall mix rather ascetic and thin by Extreme Metal standards. Meanwhile, novel sounds include the throatier growling style often employed by frontman Sakis (although his trademark rasp lives on as well) and a cornucopia of Folk elements ranging from the snaking melodies gracing tracks like "Dub-Sag-Ta-Ke" and "...Pir Threontai," to the uncanny chants contributed by the traditional choir group Pliades to the title track, "Demonon Vrosis," and comprising the entirety of "Nekron Lahes...". Even with all of these innovations, though, Rotting Christ's identity is never in doubt, thanks to their trademark blend of tight riffing (almost Industrial in nature), fluid soloing (brilliantly showcased on "Fire, Death and Fear"), and punctuating harmonics that somehow manage to come off as both incredibly violent and improbably infectious, as epitomized by climaxing highlights "Noctis Era," "Thou Art Lord," and "Santa Muerte." Finally, closing the album and somewhat apart from it, too, is a cover of Diamanda Gal s' "Orders from the Dead," featuring the fearsome harpy herself, which, if nothing else, sheds light on Rotting Christ's intrepid will to experiment and evolve, even whilst digging into history's murky depths for inspiration. Indeed, who knows where that progressive attitude will take them next, but with a track record such as theirs, whatever it is can't come soon enough.

In an interview with the Songfacts website, Rudolf Schenker explained that their goal was to update their sound from their classic period in the 1980s. He explained: "If you take the best song elements from the '80s albums, and put these on one album, you come up with the “Sting in the Tail” album. So in this case we tried to re-invent the Scorpions sound from the '80s, using the same DNA after putting in a modern twist, to make it sound like today's music." The album has a duet featuring the Finnish symphonic metal singer Tarja Turunen, in the song "The Good Die Young".
A tentative title for the album was Humanity: Hour II, however this was eventually scrapped.
First week sales in the United States were 18,500 copies sold placing it at No. 23 on the Billboard 200. In Germany the album debuted at No. 2, but fell in its second week to No. 3, in France at No. 16 and in Greece at No. 1. The album also peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard Rock Charts.

Formed around July - August 2005 by Stefan Hertrich (Shiva in Exile, ex- Darkseed, ex- Sculpture, ex-Death Of Eden), the project was a sort of unofficial follow up to 1999's Betray My Secrets band, which featured Stefan Hertrich, Christian Bystron and Harald Winkler. Spi Ritual features almost nothing but guest musicians playing different instruments, with the only core member being Stefan Hertrich. Maurizio Guolo (Darkseed, Pergamon, Absorbed in Thought) played drums on the album.
Mixing Ethnic and Middle Eastern elements with loud, blasting Metal, vicious vocals, awe-inspiring guitar work, an abundance of ambiance and a roster of guest musicians that could practically take up an entire page of the booklet, Spi Ritual's "Pulse" leaves few areas untouched.
Enhanced CD includes a multimedia section with a video clip "Pulse" + multimedia track with footage, additional music, and texts by Stefan Hertrich and D. Ph. Christian Rätsch. A pressing error caused the digipak to open improperly.

Xanadoo is fast Thrash Metal with traces of Crossover. Band‘s 2010 debut full-length album "Black. Death. Grind. Shit!" contained re-recorded versions of the tracks that were on the band’s previous 2 demos, "Blood Is Dirt" and "This Demo Is Shit", and while the quality of the re-recorded versions were certainly awesome as f**k, the fact that it contained only 1 new track ("Subterranean Hemorrhoid Blues") left fans craving for even more new material. "Thrashing In The East" is then that long-awaited antidote, with Xanadoo finally releasing 4 (well, technically 3) brand new tracks along with their Japanese compatriots Fastkill!

Fastkill is brutal fast Thrash the way it’s meant to be! As though the dosage of speed by Xanadoo weren’t enough, Fastkill begins their onslaught with a rough mix of "Stench Of Hell", off their recent full-length album, "Bestial Thrashing Bulldozer". The raw sound of this rough mix helps to bring out that high energy and intensity that is in the band’s playing, and is definitely a nice touch to the already devastating final version of the track. Toshio’s characteristic screechy vocals are still instantly recognizable, and so is the breakneck speed that Fastkill tends to indulge themselves in.

Thrashing in the East is one hell of an exciting and enjoyable release, and while it is business as usual for speed maniacs Fastkill, the fresh tracks of Xanadoo definitely made this a noteworthy release as well! The craving is more than satisfied for now!!
