Debut mini-album by Polish Death Metal band.
Band made quite a nice progress from their demo, not only with the compositions and the performance, but also the production, which is very nice. No Salvation is strongly influenced by the brutal US Death Metal and the likes of Deicide, Vital Remains, Diabolic, Brutality and Morbid Angel. It’s been played mainly in fast tempos, but not in the boring, one dimensional way, so also some slower or mid paced fragments are here and there. Especially “Niosący światło” brings attention, which is the final song and one, which differs a lot from the rest, not only with slower, more melodic, catchy and epic riffing, but also with the Polish lyrics. But this is the only such piece and the rest of the album is more oriented on brutal, straight forward Death Metal.
Nothing else to add. This is quite short recording, but it's nice to see it's all going in good direction!

Re-release of the fifth full-length album by American Thrash Metal band.
Detroit's Nocturnal Fear play aggressive 80's German-inspired Speed/Thrash Metal (in vein of Sodom, Destruction and Kreator), with guttural vocals and an overall sense of mayhem. As such this is more retro Thrash worship than anything forward-thinking, but like a lot of second-generation Thrash bands, these guys have the chops and aggression to pull it off nicely.
The old-school Thrash sound similar to bands like the aforementioned Kreator and Sodom really shines through better when the material is coming at the listener quicker, and when the bass kicks really add more to the music. The title track "Excessive Cruelty" proves this well, as the song is much faster and intense compared to "Murder for Hire", focusing more on aggression then the melody of rhythm this style can have, especially during the chorus. The power from the drums and the speed of the guitars, matched with some good bass throughout the whole song that stands out better than the previous track, really show the ruthless aggression that Nocturnal Fear has.
"Excessive Cruelty" it's a strong full-length offering from Nocturnal Fear, and even feels stronger than their last effort. There's nothing all that special or unique about the album other than some really aggressive material mingling with catchy dance-worthy sections, but overall it's an enjoyable Thrash effort. With sleek sounding music, rawer and aggressive passages, rather low bass you have to really turn the volume up to get the full effect of! If you liked the previous efforts of Nocturnal Fear, then there's no doubt that you'll enjoy "Excessive Cruelty". Even if you're not a fan, it's worth sampling for some of the more intense tracks that do appear on this effort and stand out among the rest!!

Official re-release of the debut full-length album by American Avant-garde Thrash Metal band.
Project: Failing Flesh, a band that includes singer/bassist Eric Forrest (ex- Voivod and E-Force bassist/vocalist) and guitarist Tim Gutierrez (also with E-Force).
If one needs to pin this 40-minute CD down stylistically, perhaps it's best to describe the disc as Cyber Metal/Electro Metal by way of Thrash Metal with traces of Death Metal/Black Metal at times and a Hardcore/Metalcore vocal style. Forrest's screaming vocals suggest Hardcore and Metalcore, but "A Beautiful Sickness" doesn't sound like Hatebreed or Throwdown, and anyone who appreciates the Industrialized Cyber Metal of Ministry, White Zombie, Godflesh, or Powerman 5000 should have some appreciation of this CD's Metallic use of electronics (although Project: Failing Flesh has a lot more fast tempos than those bands).
"A Beautiful Sickness" isn't quite as consistent as it could have been, but overall, it's a memorable effort that paints an attractive picture of the risk-taking band! This is righteous stuff and highly recommended!!

Band's unique compositions take the freedom of Progressive music and apply it to a dark, obscure sound, with relentless growl vocals over a layer of twisted keyboard melodies, precise guitar riffing, powerful bass lines and funereal drums.
A lead role played by the keyboards, a warm sounding guitar and bass, varied and dynamic drums and a growl voice in contrast with the tuneful music.
Qaanaaq choose not to have solos in its songs, there's more desire to play and experiment with the structure of the songs instead. That's why this project is so different and unique compared to other Metal bands with the same style. This music is as the perfect soundtrack for a horror movie.

Debut full-length album by Italian Thrash Metal band.
This is a perfect example of a modern Thrash Metal band with influences of what Metallica did after the “Load” album. Vocalist has a particular style and seems that he is part of the base of Metallica fans in Italy. Anyway, Reapter band has strong musical skills and they created dynamic guitar riffs carefully placed in melodic structures. Everything is around the guitar work. Band did an excellent work on the debut album, but they have to work and get an own personality before they become another band with the sound of Hetfield and Co.
Anyway, this is the good Thrash Metal album for fans of Metallica and Megadeth!!

Debut full-length album by Italian Thrash Metal band.
When you think of Italy you mainly think of Power Metal, but, fortunately, Italy isn’t only about that. Thrash has a big history upon Italian soil and Rising Dark are part of that! Fresh out the Thrash Master class, Italy’s Rising Dark are indeed a dark horse, where this band have been hiding?! This Thrash monster resides somewhere between some of Testament’s greatest output and modern day Onslaught!!
They were formed in 2005, initially covering Metallica songs (now why does that sounds so familiar?) and then begun to write their own material. In 2008 they released their first demo and afterwards did many gigs. “Apocalyptic” is their first full length release, which features seven songs.
The main characteristic of the album is the heavy sound, even in the parts where it isn’t fast. Although it is mainly Thrash Metal the album leans many times towards Power Metal and other times towards Crossover/Trash, with breakdowns and cutting edge riffs. After a nice atmospheric track there is “Armageddon” and here one gets a pretty good picture of what the band is playing: fast tempos, heavy riffs and some nice technical solos. “This is War” is a heavy track with groovy elements, up-tempo but not extremely fast. “The Bofoid” is the longest track, almost eight minutes, and this means room for diversity: many tempo changes, Thrash alternates with Hardcore, clean vocals with brutal and heavy riffs with technical solos (the band definitely has a thing for them). Next , there  the realm of Lovecraft, with the song “Yog Sothoth”, that kicks in slowly and atmospherically and continues with clean and brutal vocals (nice clean vocal melodies here). Towards the middle things heat up, but only for a while before the song resumes the initial rhythm. “Your Blood Is On My Hands” is the Thrash-iest song, with, heavy riffs and a fast tempo, almost throughout the album, and a nice guitar solo. The last song, “Phoenix” is a six and a half minute ballad that even it is nice it could have been shorter.
Although “Apocalyptic” doesn’t really offer something new to the Heavy Metal world, it is well played with a nice production and songs that will stick to mind. Rising Dark have all the means of greater releases in the future and you should keep an eye on them!!
