Debut full-length album by the legendary Finnish Symphonic Folk Metal band.
The beginning of the story of Nightwish. “Angels Fall First” is very different from the later releases; it is much more Folk Metal and acoustically oriented than its successors. Its Folky sound is also more or less reduced on later albums. The male vocals heard on "Beauty and the Beast", "The Carpenter", "Astral Romance" and "Once Upon a Troubadour" are sung by keyboardist–band leader Tuomas Holopainen, as well as the whispers in the beginning of the demo version of "Etiäinen". Following this release, Holopainen never sang credited on an album again, because he thought that he was not good enough. He has however provided the background shouts on "Moondance" on the 1998 album “Oceanborn”, as well as some background growling on "Master Passion Greed" on the 2007 album “Dark Passion Play”. Also this is the only album on which Emppu plays the bass.
As of December 2009, “Angels Fall First” has sold more than 36000 copies in Finland alone. Even though the only single, "The Carpenter", reached number three on the Finnish singles chart, Nightwish only gained international fame after the release of their second studio album, “Oceanborn”, 1998. The songs of the album were played more and more seldom live leading up to the departure of vocalist Tarja Turunen in October 2005, and no songs from the album has been performed with the new vocalist Anette Olzon since. The band, and especially band leader and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen has since frowned upon the album.
Angels Fall First is the band’s first album but it contains songs which have become “classics”! While "Angels Fall First" pales drastically in comparison to the other albums in the Nightwish library, it’s still great album!!

The first single from the eighth full-length studio album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", by legendary Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.
The single marks the first Nightwish song to feature its newest frontwoman, Dutch singer Floor Jansen, and the first to feature Troy Donockley as a full-time member, as well as Kai Hahto as a temporary replacement for drummer Jukka Nevalainen.
The song was announced on December 8, 2014 at the band's official website. According to keyboardist and songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, the song is "a wonderful teaser for the full-length album, giving out a little taste, but revealing very little of the actual journey of grandeur to come".
The music video for the song features several famous Finnish actors and was "inspired by the untold stories of abandoned places around Finland".
The single also contains the song "Sagan", a bonus track not released on "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". The song is about astrophysicist and science popularizer Carl Sagan. Tuomas said the band intended to include the track in the album track-list, but it would exceed the 80-minutes limit of a conventional CD, so they left the track out of it.

NIGHTWISH “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” /Ltd. 2CD Digibook/
Limited Edition release of the eighth full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.
Unlike its predecessor, "Imaginaerum", which has themes of imagination and fantasy, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" addresses science and reason. Focusing on the evolutionary theories of Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins, the latter part of the album cites passages from their books. Both authors influenced album tracks; 'The Ancestor's Tale' inspired "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", and by 'The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution' inspired "The Greatest Show on Earth". Some songs, such as "Edema Ruh" (inspired by Patrick Rothfuss' novel 'The Name of the Wind'), still have fanciful themes.
The album is the band's first featuring singer Floor Jansen (After Forever, Revamp) who joined the group on the road in 2012 after the mid-tour departure of Anette Olzen. Also it's the first album with Troy Donockley as a full-time member. It was recorded without drummer Jukka Nevalainen, who took a break from the band due to severe insomnia. Drumming was by Kai Hahto (Wintersun, Swallow The Sun, Dreams Of Eternity). The album includes only five Nightwish members, despite its being their first album release as a sextet.
Nightwish has endured numerous lineup changes throughout its nearly 20-year career, but the band's sound has remained remarkably consistent, due in large part to the stabilizing presence of project founder and chief songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, whose overall vision for the band remains unchanged.
"Endless Forms Most Beautiful" is probably the most accomplished Nightwish album so far. It's succeeds despite its strict adherence to the Nightwish formula. It's a well-oiled machine firing on all cylinders, both expansive and familiar, and it's arguably the band's most immediate-sounding record in years!
Limited Edition Digipak includes a 32-page booklet and bonus CD with instrumental version of the album.

NIGHTWISH “Imaginaerum” /Ltd. Slipcase Digipack 2CD + Poster/
Limited Edition release of the seventh full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.
Finish Symphonic Metal titans return with their new epic masterpiece. Four years has passed since the release of their previous album “Dark Passion Play” which continued the change that had been in progress ever since “Century Child”, the movement to a more theatrical, more symphonic Nightwish. “Imaginaerum” continues that trend and takes it to a whole new level backed by The Looking Glass Orchestra (The London Philharmonic Orchestra) creating Nightwishs most orchestral and epic album yet. The highly anticipated release is more than a new album but the inspiration and soundtrack to the upcoming full-length fantasy movie, “Imaginaerum”. The musical style of the songs on the album are diverse but the album never feels sprawling, they blend together in an exceptional way making the listening feel fresh during the entire duration of the album (74 minutes). It is strong, incredibly strong, every track, feels like they contribute with something on the album and every single song stands out; there are not two songs that sounds alike, they are remarkably well crafted and clear evidence of the mastermind Tuomas Holopainen’s ability to compose music.
This album is one of the best-crafted musical pieces ever! It displays the reason for why Nightwish is The Giant within the Symphonic Metal genre. They are simply so much better than anything else, the band is so tight and this set-up composes fantastic music no matter who sings in Nightwish, it may be Tarja Turunen, it may be Anette Olzon, the music holds a so high level of craftsmanship that it turns Golden independently of the singer!!
The Limited Edition includes second CD with instrumental version of the album.

Official Collector's Edition re-release of the second full-length studio album by the legendary Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.
Released in December 1998 in Finland and in the spring of 1999 worldwide, the album marked a definitive change in musical scope for Nightwish from their Folk-laden roots in "Angels Fall First", showcasing a more bombastic, Power Metal-oriented sound with faster tempos, harmonic guitar/keyboard leads, and plenty of double-bass-heavy drumwork. "Oceanborn"'s sound hearkens a more dramatic approach in the overall musical scope, mostly relegated to the Symphonic keyboard work and lead singer Tarja Turunen's vocals.
"Oceanborn" has sold more than 68,000 copies in Finland. The single "Sleeping Sun" was released in August 1999, and the song has been included in every re-issue of the album since then. The album was released in the US by Century Media in March 2001.

The first Single of the seventh full-length album by the legendary Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.
It was released on 9 November 2011, twenty days prior to the album, along with a music video. The song premiered on Radio Rock, a Finnish radio station at 9.00 GMT +2 on 7 November 2011, two days before its commercial release.
Composer and band leader Tuomas Holopainen has said of "Storytime" that it "is a single that pretty well represents the whole album", and that it give a better picture of the album than "Eva" and "Amaranth" did as the first two singles to the 2007 album "Dark Passion Play".
After a mere week, the band announced that the single was topping the Finnish single chart. On 18 November the lyrics to the song were released in a YouTube video and on the band's website.
The music video to "Storytime" features the radio version of the song, which is one and a half minute shorter than the album version. The video shows the band playing the song in the suits they wear in the "Imaginaerum" film, and with characters from the film briefly shown throughout the video. The video cuts between this movie-like scene and footage of the band dressing up, and behind-the-scene footage from the making of the film.

NIGHTWISH “The Crow, The Owl And The Dove” /Digipack CD Single/
The second Single of the seventh full-length album by the legendary Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.
The gentle track is written by guitar player and vocalist Marco Hietala. It was released on March 2, 2012. In addition, the single includes the unreleased song "The Heart Asks Pleasure First", a cover of the song with the same name from the the triple Oscar-winning movie "The Piano" to which Nightwish added vocals, originally scored by Michael Nyman. Tuomas calls it "one one the most beautiful soundtracks ever written". He adds: "We wanted to do our own version of this instrumental theme, adding the whole band`s effort, the orchestra & choir, and lyrics into the song, capturing the original haunting and melancholic atmosphere in NIGHTWISH style". The song was originally recorded during the "Dark Passion Play" sessions to be released as a bonus track, but Nyman did not provide permission for the song to be released in time for album's release.
In March 2012, Nuclear Blast held a contest for fans to create their own music video for "The Crow, the Owl and the Dove". The record label provided a MP3 download of the radio edit of the song for entrants to use in entries. The first-place winner received a "Golden Ticket", allowing access to any show on the Imaginaerum World Tour, a special award, and a band meet-and-greet. The second and third-place winners received two tickets to a Nightwish concert near them (including a meet-and-greet for the second-place winner), as well as a copy of the Limited Tour Edition of "Imaginaerum". Winning videos were uploaded to the Nuclear Blast and Nightwish YouTube channels. The contest ended April 10, 2012, and winners were selected by members of the band, label, and management, while taking YouTube "likes" and views into account.
The single debuted at number one in the Finnish Singles Chart.

The third full-length album by the legendary Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.
While “Oceanborn” was the album that confirmed the band’s talent, “Wishmaster” was the album that brought consideration. Is considered by many fans as the best album so far. With that album, Nightwish strengthened its leader position in that new musical genre - Lyric Metal. Some songs became “classics”.
“Wishmaster”'s sound continues the bombastic Symphonic Power Metal approach originally featured on “Oceanborn”, albeit with more emphasis on atmosphere and melody versus powerful speed and heaviness. Perhaps even more so than its predecessor, “Wishmaster” has a very clear fantasy theme. While commonly considered to be closer to conventional Power Metal, there is still a great variety with slower songs.
“Wishmaster” was #1 in the official Finnish charts; the album also debuted in the European charts at #21 in Germany and #66 in France. Today, “Wishmaster” has sold more than 77,000 copies in Finland alone.
Thanks to this album, Nightwish saw one of their dreams come true - touring around the world as an headliner. No more constraint like the ones they had as a supporting group. They were free to offer their audience the show they wanted. Nightwish then gave a more than an hour and half show, offering the crowd the best of their first three albums, and an instrumental in order to let Tarja’s voice rest in the middle of the show.
In brief, “Wishmaster” is the album which made Nightwish take off and receive the fan's esteem the band deserved!

NIGHTWISH “Decades (An Archive Of Song 1996 – 2015)” /Ltd. 2CD Digipack/
The fourth greatest hits compilation album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.
Nightwish are kings of Symphonic Prog Metal - epic, grandeur and melodic. They reached No. 1 in their homeland Finland with a ‘best of’ back in 2015, but they’ve also flung together a ballad-only collection, as well as some other more inconspicuous anthologies too.
"Decades" is a look back at their journey since their inception in 1996. Nightwish don’t look the same now as they did back then; original vocalist and band hallmark Tarja Turunen is solo after a messy split in 2005, while her replacement Anette Olzon only lasted five years. But what has remained steady throughout is keyboard wizard, songwriter and leader Tuomas Holopainen, whose affinity for cinematic orchestration gives Nightwish’s imposing sound its true vigor.
“Decades” contains remastered versions of the original material. Compilation was released on March 9, 2018, in the same day that they began touring for the Decades: World Tour.
The track listing is presented in reverse chronological order.
Vocals on CD 1: Floor Jansen (tracks 1 - 3), Anette Olzon (tracks 4 - 7), Tarja Turunen (tracks 8 - 9). Vocals on CD 2: Tarja Turunen.

The EP has two new songs (“Tenth Man Down” and “Away”) and a remake of "Angels Fall First"'s “Astral Romance”, sung by Tony Kakko beside Tarja Turunen. The title song, “Over The Hill And Far Away”, is by Northern Irish singer and guitarist Gary Moore, and has backing vocals by Tuomas Holopainen and Kakko. Tapio Wilska sings on "10th Man Down".
Bassist Sami Vänskä left the band after its recording, due to musical differences between him and Tuomas Holopainen. He was replaced by the bassist and male vocalist, Marko Hietala.
The EP debuted at number one on the Finnish Singles Chart and spent twelve weeks in the top three, topping it for another four weeks and spending six weeks at number two. It charted for a total of 49 weeks, including two weeks in early 2004.
The EP has been awarded double-Platinum certification in Finland and has sold over 36,000 copies to date, becoming the sixth-best-selling Single of all time in Finland. "Over The Hills And Far Away" entered also the European charts, in the Top 100 of Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland.
Re-release contains six live tracks, taken from the live DVD "From Wishes To Eternity", recorded in Tampere, Finland, on 29 December 2000.

The third European re-release of the sixth full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.
It was released on 26 September 2007 by Spinefarm Records in Finland, 28 September by Nuclear Blast in Europe and 2 October 2007 by Roadrunner Records in the US. It is the first album without original vocalist Tarja Turunen, who was dismissed in 2005, as well as the first album involving future member Troy Donockley on uilleann pipes and tin whistle. It is the first of only two albums with vocalist Anette Olzon, who was eventually dismissed in 2012 after the release of the band's subsequent album, "Imaginaerum". Tuomas Holopainen has referred to this album as the "album that saved his life".
The song "Eva" was leaked on the Internet six days before its official release, prompting the band to release it earlier as a promotional Single, to boost downloads. Several other versions of the song were posted on YouTube and torrent sites a month later; the entire album with record label voice-overs had been leaked on the Internet by 2 August. The full album (without voice-overs) was leaked on 21 September, as a result of several stores in Mexico selling the retail album much prior to the worldwide release date.
On 22 September 2007, the band hosted a secret concert at Rock Café in Tallinn, Estonia, disguising itself as a Nightwish cover band called Nachtwasser. Their first official concert with the new singer was in Tel Aviv, Israel on 6 October 2007. The Dark Passion Play Tour thus started, visiting the United States, Canada, most of Europe, Asia, and Australia. In 2008, the band played over 100 shows, with dates in Oceania, Europe and Asia. In November, the band played in South America, and before this leg they took a three-month break; Nightwish began the third leg in 2009, with dates in North America and Europe, and also playing in several summer Metal festivals, including Graspop Metal Meeting and Masters of Rock. The last show was played in Helsinki, Finland, in front of 10,000 fans.
Pre-orders for "Dark Passion Play" had it certified Gold in Finland before it had even been released. The album debuted at number one in 6 European countries, selling over 100 000 copies in Finland (triple Platinum). In February 2008, the album was certified quadruple-Platinum in Finland, after having sold over 130 000 copies, and placing 26th on the list of best-selling Finnish albums ever released. Worldwide, it has sold over 700 000 copies by the end of 2007 and about 2 million copies to date. It has been certified as Platinum in Germany and Hungary, and Gold in Austria, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland; "Dark Passion Play" is also the most successful Nightwish album in UK and USA, with sales in the United States of over 134 000 copies.
The instrumental version of "Whoever Brings the Night" is used in the 2011 puzzle-platform game, "LittleBigPlanet 2". In November 2014, the NHL hockey team Minnesota Wild featured the album's first track "The Poet and the Pendulum" in their season trailer. In 2016, an article by Teamrock considers "Dark Passion Play" as one of the "best albums of this century", ranking it at number 60 on their countdown of the "21st century's greatest albums".

The second re-release of the seventh full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.

First re-release of the eighth full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.

Band's first double album, with the second part complete with orchestral music rather than Metal.
The band managed to do something different and still stay true to a lot of the elements that define them, and the album really gives a more natural, organic, almost humble approach. It’s still properly bombastic at times, but it seems like after they sealed their name as gods of Symphonic Metal, they wanted to go back to just being human. It’s fresh and beautiful, calming at times, and it somehow just sounds healthy. Unfortunately underrated in the community, the album full of varied and entertaining songs and great musical performances from a band that has changed but evolved positively over the years. After Tarja, this is a great discovery. This album is, at last, the best since Tarja's departure. Good for Tuomas. Great album. The new Nightwish album is a good thing, and you should definitely check it out.
It is the sixth and final album to feature bassist/vocalist Marko Hietala, before his departure in January 2021. Following the departure of original drummer Jukka Nevalainen the previous year, this is the first album to feature Kai Hahto as an official band member, although he had already acted as Nevalainen's replacement on the band's previous album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful".
The album became the band's seventh consecutive album to top the Official Finnish Albums Chart.
Definitely recommended for anyone who likes Epic and heavy bombast with cheese on top, for everyone who gave up on post-Tarja-Nightwish and for everyone who does not care for Trve Metäl credibility when it comes to melody!

Special Edition re-release of the ninth full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.
Band's first double album, with the second part complete with orchestral music rather than Metal.
The band managed to do something different and still stay true to a lot of the elements ..
The fifth full-length studio album by the legendary Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.
Nightwish's best-selling album to date, and the last album to feature Tarja Turunen on lead vocals.
The album cost nearly €250 000 to make, (1 000 000 including the videos), which made it Finland's most expensive recording ever until the release of Nightwish's next album, "Dark Passion Play", which cost over €500 000 to produce. As of 2013, "Once" had sold 2.3 million copies worldwide, becoming Nightwish's most successful album to date.
The album continues the more streamlined musical approach first heard on "Century Child", moving further away from the Power Metal-influenced sound of their previous albums into Symphonic Metal with a slightly more mainstream, approachable feel. "Once" utilizes a full orchestra in nine of the eleven songs on the album; unlike on "Century Child", Nightwish chose an orchestra outside of Finland, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which has been featured on every album released since.
"Once" is their second album to feature a full-length song in Finnish, "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan". The band added new elements to their music for this album, such as the chorus riff and synthesized drum-beat of "Wish I Had an Angel", and a long prayer chant on "Creek Mary's Blood".
During the first week of its release, "Once" entered the Finnish, German and Norwegian charts at number one, later topping the European Top 100 Albums chart. It was also the first Nightwish album to chart in the United States, reaching No. 42 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart, and the band's first album to chart in UK, reaching No. 10 on the Rock Chart. In 2005, "Once" was ranked number 383 in Rock Hard Magazine's book "The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time". In 2017, it was ranked 89th at Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time".
"Once" has been certified double Platinum in Finland, triple Gold in Germany, Gold in Sweden. The Single "Nemo" topped the charts in Finland and Hungary, and reached the top ten in four additional countries. It remained on the UK Rock Chart for more than a year. "Nemo" therefore remains their most successful single ever, and "Once" reached number 47 in the list of best-selling albums of all time in Finland. As of June 2013, the album had sold 2.3 million copies worldwide, becoming Nightwish's best-selling album to date.
